Stoke have started the season very strongly, with four wins and a loss...their only loss coming at the end of August, against West Brom. They sit second in the table, on 12 points. They added to their squad over the summer, with eleven new players coming in as far as I can see, and £8.5 million spent. Most notably, they signed Robert Bozenik from Boavista and Divin Mubama on loan from Man City, the latter has already scored 2 in 5 appearances. In his first summer transfer window since taking over in January, Mark Robbins has certainly added to his squad, with a good balance of experienced players, like Aaron Cresswell and Ben Gibson, alongside the young and exciting prospect such as Divin Saku Mubama and Lamine Cisse. They certainly look like they could be a strong force this season. As for us, I thoroughly enjoyed watching our trip to Wrexham, and showing the highlights to a few friends and even some of my students this week (education in British culture a very important part of language learning...right ). Going into this game I'd love to see Burrell, Vale, Saito and Kone start and get us going on the front foot from the off. The danger is we welcome the team sitting second in the table, and so sit back, and I don't have enough confidence in our defence to do that and no concede at least one goal, if not more. As we saw against Coventry, this team can leak goals, so best form of defence is surely attack! Team news and manager comments to go up when on the official, enjoy if you are making it to HQ, and as always... ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Nice one Dave I'm back for this one and looking forward to my spot in NL block Yeah Stoke have started well but if we can start with a strong midfield and feed Kone we 'could' match them Regardless, a couple of pints with the OG's, a pie and a decent atmosphere enough for me
Sadly I’m away for this one but will be a tough test - when is Poku expected back, I thought it could be this one.
Thx Dave. They're flying high atm. I hope we can put a dent in that! 'Cisse, CISSE'! Or maybe, 'Kone, KONE'!
Stokies wins have come against lower ranked teams so far, so this promises to be a good test for both sides. Hopefully we will see further progress from JS and the lads. The bench looks to be getting stronger and stronger which bodes well for options. No fannying around at the back please. No early giveaways please. More positive forward play please. More goals from the forwards please. Let’s upset things a bit Rrrrsss.
Curious what the Head of Integrated Peformance and Head of Performance Services do but someone has to put the cones out.
