Always think that if a player has the ability and temperament, Adkins can get the best out of them. It's no good saying A is better than B if A won't sign for you. We can't go on playing with only 1 out and out striker..it's as simple as that.

I think people should let Adkins get on with the job rather than slating every transfer rumour. Have people not learned from criticising Hooiveld?
To be honest, if Saints are top, going into the January transfer window, they can have their pick of the strikers, knowing full well that the one they want will come for the potential of Premier League football.
Indeed, I do think these next four games are quite important in terms of January signings (I include Brighton away in that, as it's so early on in January). We've won one of our last four. If that turns into something like two out of eight, after these next four games, and we've fallen back into the play-offs then prospective new signings may get cold feet about joining us (rightly or wrongly).

I like Jutkiewicz - I think he's the only striker mentioned on here today that can play a similar role to Lambert, meaning that Saints don't need to radically change the side if Lambert has to miss any games. That said, I think he would also be able to play alongside him. He's quicker than Lambert too so would add another dimension to our attack
Spl cardboard cut out players would defend better then scottish defenders. Sharp is by far the better player, apparently we have wrapped up his signing to according to a few on here. Now jutkiewicz is apparently a done deal. That's our strike force sorted

From what I've seen of Jonno, he's not 'jonno quick' himself, at least not with the ball at his feet. We could use his pace though if he can learn to hit a barn door.
I have to agree actually, although like TSS I love that particular Adkinism. Probably my favourite. I might use it at the Olympics next year.
It is all starting to become a little tedious, these rumours of which striker Saints will sign in January, Sharp, Maynard, Rodriguez, Jutkiewicz. In all seriousness, if NC decides to bring in a new striker which I'm sure he will, I reckon it will be somebody nobody has even mentioned yet.
