I'll admit I had reservations about Still mainly because of his age and i've yet to see anything from his tactics or game plan to justify the hype so far. We have to give him time though and hopefully the work on the training ground with the new players will start to bear fruit and we'll see some progressive and exciting and more importantly, winning football.
Bloody autocorrect that one! Hopefully Flynn has a spell out of the team so I won't have to type his name for a while.
I prefer Archer as a player by a mile but unless we're going to hit lower crosses/cut backs or start playing through balls more then it's not going to work.
I personally don't subscribe to the notion of more age == better at your job on it's own We talk about young players being good enough to be in the team due to their ability and accept that they have the odd mistake in them, but then don't allow for this in coaching or management? Experience means you don't make the same mistakes you've made before but a younger person with a higher level of innate ability and a desire to learn will catch up and quickly outstrip any old duffer.. (though maybe I see this more in software dev as the young people have grown up with the tech as opposed to having to retrain...) Of course the lack of experience means mistakes will be made and there is a learning process to all things. WS may be young for a manager but the newer generation of managers are just that - as young people they have learnt to be managers. They aren't retired players who've moved into coaching and then into management. Anyway back to the armchair (well office desk chair) debate. I'd like to see: - wood in for THB (just feel he's got a pending red in him at the moment with some of his actions in the last games) - Scienza in for Fraser (need to see more but he looked good for the brief spell and I'm morbidly fascinated to see if another team will kick him as much...) - Jander in for Downes (enough said) Keep the rest as is. Archer will score given the right balls through to him and a midfield of Azaz, Fellows, Scienza, Jander and Charles should, on paper, be able to fashion enough chances for him.
What I hope is that there is one player than can transition play with direct running at the oppo from central areas a la Stuey, we've definitely lacked that recently.
So who else is going to this other than Tom and Lincs? Pub? Though not sure what's around there pub wise, I'll be parking quite far from the city centre.
Apart from you three there's another 2333 hardy Saints supporters making up the sold out allocation. Plenty of online info on the bright lights of 'ull e.g. Away Guide | Hull City https://share.google/6smuewR3zoFDOJq9b
I reckon I'll arrive about 1/1:30 so let me know where you end up. ... before leaving about 5 minutes before I arrive
McCarthy Mads THB stephens manning Charles Jander Fellows Azaz Fraser Archer I’d keep Frazer for his work rate, gives a fullback a hard game.
What's Bazunu done this season to warrant being dropped for McCarthy? Genuinely interested as I thought he'd done a lot better than prior seasons. Our current rate of shipping goals would see us around 50 ish goals after 46 games which is not too bad in comparison to the last few seasons...
To be honest I don't really think the starting 11 really matters. We are aware of the dross from last season and our new signings aren't exactly looking like they're much cop. Saturday will be all about which tactics and formation Will has tried out on his computer
