Heavy metal star Ozzy Osbourne has died, just weeks after reuniting with his Black Sabbath bandmates and performing a huge farewell concert for fans.

In a statement, his family said: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love."

RIP Ozzy, a one off, Great performer<rose><rose>

Apparently the reunion show raised $190 million US for charity.

I saw Ozzy in 2012 queen's golden jubilee that got me into music and then him in Black Sabbath twice since then. Great performer and showman, despite his image he always seemed a gentle type of man

    RIP

I was reminded of some lyrics from A National Acrobat when I heard of his death:

    Just remember love is life
    And hate is living death
Treat your life for what its worth
    And live for every breath
Looking back I've lived and learned
    But now I'm wondering
Here, I wait and only guess
What this next life will bring

Saw that Hulk Hogan passed away from suspected heart issues on Thursday. Never into wrestling myself, but he transcended that into a kinda crazy cult figure.

July isn't looking food for the maverick celebrities!

    RIP

Just seen on another colourful site that Bunny Larkin has just passed away. I admit I never saw him play, but he came to us from Birmingham in 1960 and stayed just two years, scoring in all his debuts for us (including cups). Returned to live in Norfolk for the rest of his life, like so many of our retired. <rose><rose>
    RIP Bunny.

Edit:- he also played for Watford after us, so cup night may be a good time to remember him.

Former British, European and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Joe Bugner has died aged 75.

Bugner twice shared the ring with Muhammad Ali, losing both fights on points, and traded punches with some of the biggest names in his heavyweight era.

Earlier in his career, he defeated Henry Cooper on points to become British, European and Commonwealth champion in 1971.

Bugner's death was confirmed in a statement from The British Boxing Board of Control, which read: "It is with great sadness that the former British, European, Commonwealth heavyweight champion and world championship contender Joe Bugner has passed away at his care home in Brisbane, Australia.

    RIP Joe<rose><rose><rose>

"Much-travelled Scottish former striker and manager Jimmy Bone has died at the age of 75. Bone began his career with Partick Thistle and went to play for Norwich City, Sheffield United, Celtic, St Mirren, Toronto Blizzard, Hong Kong Rangers and Heart of Midlothian, as well as two spells with Arbroath. He also earned two caps for Scotland, scoring in a 4-1 World Cup qualifying win away to Denmark in 1974. Bone helped Thistle and Norwich win promotion to their respective top flights."

He was leading the line in the first game I ever went to in the early 70s, against Ipswich low down in the Barclay after we were promoted to the top division for the first time. He came to within what seemed to be touching distance several times. Great little striker and a feisty character as well.

    RIP Jimmy <rose><rose><rose>

Sad news He was not here very long but made a forceful impact and is fondly remembered by us oldies. Another brilliant signing by Ron Saunders along with the likes of Graham Paddon and David Cross.

There was a report a few days ago about his death, but his son said that it was false and he was still alive though poorly. Is it correct this time?

Just seen that boxer Ricky Hatton has died aged 46. No suspicious circumstances. I think he was talking of a comeback fairly recently. <rose><rose><rose>

Yes, RIP. Under 2 years older than me :emoticon-0107-sweat
No idea of the circumstances yet, of course, and it could be anything..but it does make you wonder what his tendency to gain 3 stone (crap diet and beers) and then lose 3 stone between fights did to his body...although apparently a neighbour raised the alarm at 06.45am on a Sunday morning, which sounds odd, so who knows what might have occured..?
