I agree it’s not looking great for the younger generation but what do we do? It seems like no matter what the public vote for, nothing changes. I would advocate for more politics talk in the latter years of education, especially as kids are now in school until 18 I believe.. however what’s the point because every government that ends up power just goes back on promises and lies their way through their stay
Clive Lewis gives me hope, an articulate progressive voice, willing to listen to others and to talk about issues across traditional party lines. No doubt the media will get their teeth stuck not him if he ever gets popular and try to drag him down before he gets the chance to reform them. There is hope and we have to work together to achieve it. This song is probably a good fit for his views. This might be an easier link
We get the governments we deserve. The voting public wants the easy answer. Truth is, the road back is a long hard slog. I’m not sure it’s even possible when you consider the imagined past that many hope to ‘return’ to. It isn’t clear what the answer is, but I definitely know what it isn’t. And maybe that’s all we’ve got left. Follow WC Fields and only ever vote against
The EU are performing terrible. Has anybody seen the utter state of the French economy? Yet people still try and convince themselves that leaving the EU was a disaster and we’d be better off back there. Blows my mind.
I think both ourselves and the wider EU would actually be better off. Perhaps not massively but it’s caused damage to us all beyond any doubt.
I would love to join a customs union but the political establishment wanted different and forced the political union on countries that are not really ready
If we're better off post-Brexit I must be missing all the improvements and increased prosperity other people are seeing ... ... Europe is weaker without us and vice versa, Russia really took their chance didn't they.
Good post. There was a side of me understood the taking back control narrative. The feeling that your vote meant something locally rather than decision making from far away over a sea. However it’s time people who wanted out accepted the reality that the version they got was far from that. Influence came from even further away from our neighbours Europe- largely Russia and USA - and the lack of cooperation with Europe has in reality broken the shared management of migration. In fairness Labour have repaired some of this by being rational and not xenophobic. Of course there is a way to go. Labour have also invited a wannabe dictator to our shores through financial desperation, through the loss of EU income. A grim unexpected consequence is an increasing influence of those promoting the revival of fascism and some struggle with Europeans because of the war. Irony after irony. .
We have Poundland Trump in Farage who would like to fck our nhs to keep his US mates happy. Frightening times as many of the people supporting him would be knackered if he ever got his way.
You have to ask why Russia backed The Brexit campaign. A weaker Europe was exactly what they wanted. Nigel certainly has some nice friends and some of supporters need to look behind the lager and *** smoking facade.
Correct, please ignore anything I say from 13.00h onwards. The boss has invited me round for drinks and he has over 100 excellent whiskeys, not to mention classic bottles of rum ... ... could get messy
Charlie Kirk's alleged killer is "not co-operating" with authorities and has not confessed to carrying out the shooting, Utah's governor Spencer Cox has told US media. Suspect Tyler Robinson, 22, was taken into custody some 33 hours after Kirk, a 31-year-old right-wing activist, was shot dead in Orem on Wednesday. The governor said among those co-operating with authorities is Mr Robinson's roommate, who he said was also his partner. He said the partner did not have have any knowledge about the alleged shooting, had been "incredibly co-operative" and was working with investigators "right now". He also confirmed that the partner was currently "transitioning from male to female", but, when asked by CNN, said that authorities do not yet know if that is relevant to the investigation.
Bloke needs to keep his mouth shut and stop trying to direct the entire investigation from start to finish ... ... just leave it to the police and give the 'judge, jury and prosecution' routine a rest. It's an extreme example of 'overplaying your part'.
I've tried to ignore all this but there's something not quite right about the whole thing. Someone was murdered and they dismantled the tent so fast it was like the circus had just left town. Then, before you can blink he’s had a full autopsy, been embalmed and laid out in his best suit. I’ve always laughed at conspiracy theories but there’s something strange about this.
That quote that Saf quoted, the last line sounded like a lie. I’m not much of a conspiracy theorist but I understandably don’t trust these lot. Did he have something on Trump or Musk? Was he a threat? Trump was at a football game being all giddy two days after his ‘friend’ had had his head blown off
