Hello, all. Hope everyone Well with a capital 'W'.

Am really looking forward to seeing the second career start of SPYCE (3.25 Yarmouth) tomorrow afternoon.

The 2YO son of Too Darn Hot ran a stormer on debut when finishing runner-up in the Convivial Maiden at York's Ebor meeting. Was really impressed by the way he stayed on that day despite showing signs of greenness throughout the contest.

The step up to a mile at Yarmouth, tomorrow, should really suit and it should be noted that since York Spyce has also been given a Group 1 entry - in the Futurity, oooooooooooop at Donny, towards the end of next month. Real class in the distaff side of the pedigree, as well, as Spyce's dam is a half-sister to a Group 1 winner.

There's always the worry, re this sort of race, that the reincarnation of Pegasus is lurking amongst the unraced brigade and it should be noted that the old boy Gosden, Night of Thunder, colt is a half-brother to Military (Group 3 placed) who cost 650,000 gns.

It was encouraging to see Alan King so positive after Spyce's win and it would appear that next month's Group 1 Futurity is still very much under consideration for the horse.

Whether or not they aim that high for his 3rd career outing, or opt for a Listed or more minor Group race, only time will tell but we will certainly get an indication as to the merits of the Yarmouth form should the old boy Gosden 2nd reappear before Spyce's next run. The first 2 home pulled some way clear of the 3rd, at Yarmouth, so you would deffo be looking for a extremely positive run from Lighting Thunder next time (at the time of writing he's no entries at all).

Incidentally, those bookie chappies have trimmed Sypce into as low as 20's for Doncaster (although Bet365 are unchanged at 33/1).
