Snooker playing taxi driver’s brother’s, wife’s auntie told me £10 million a day! FACTAMUNDO close the thread, that can’t be beat. .
Isn’t this like the era with Phil Brown , ultimately ‘the club’ owes a fortune either to Acun or the banks or both . He stands surety for the loans and pays the necessary BUT on an ongoing basis takes as much ‘cash’ out as he can when opportunity arises . So overall like the Allams maybe he doesn’t take as big a hit as we think . If he then sells the club covering the loans and debts he’s maybe done ok ? I think that’s his hope .
We won’t know until the 2025 accounts are published but the operating loss was;; 2023 - 360k per week 2024 - 510k per week After player sales: 2023 - 100k per week 2024 - 360k per week
We have a £23.9mlllion loss over last 2 seasons, which allows us to lose 17.6million in the 2025 accounts to keep within the rules. If we are at an operating loss of 600k per week that would take us to £31.2million, meaning player sales for the 2025 accounts would have to offset £13.6million. It really does show how close to the edge we are.
This might explain taking lower but total upfront amounts for Greaves/Philogene - just to get it through this set of accounts.
We're not really close to the edge at all (it's pretty tough to be after last summer's sales and how the PSR's accounting rules work). It just feels like it gets leaked as a way to stop fans saying we should spend more £££ but I've actually seen very few asking for that.
Just when you think the theories and accusations can't get anymore bonkers, they do! And no, I don't mean from the 1 or 2 who keep taking the piss, although tbf it's getting harder to differentiate. You guys. Really.
I actually don’t think PSR is that much of an issue right now. We were prepared to pay €9 million (£7.78 million) for Frigan before the fee restriction kicked in. Since transfer fees are amortised over the length of the contract, that would’ve gone down as £1,945,000 per year but it still shows PSR wasn’t the main issue this summer.
The accounts which are next published (probably around Christmas time) will be for last season. Accounts for what has been going on this summer and onwards won't be out until another year or so after that.
We are not at an operating loss of 600k a week. I don't know why people get sucked in so easily by Amin's clear pisstaking. Philogene, Greaves, Tufan, Allsop and other sales will be all included in the next set of accounts as well for what it's worth. That 'non-standard' element (player trading) seems reasonably standard..
Operating profit doesn’t include player sales. So it wouldn’t surprise me if the 2025 accounts show this as 600k per week (£31million loss before player sales). Out net loss will probably level out at just over 300k a week thanks to player sales. I think this does put us close to PSR, but ultimately just the right side.
