I didn't say the worst performance, I said the worst result. Stoke are a much better side than they are. Get over what? I think you'll find I've said multiple times we were second best today. Regardless, it was our biggest game for years against a team with a fraction of our budget. So yes it's a terrible result.

To add to this, if Man United drew with Leeds 0-0 at Old Trafford absolutely nobody would be calling it a decent point for the former.
It's remarkable isn't it. Yes we were second best today but that doesn't mean we have to accept that as a reasonable outcome. It's not about entitlement, it's about standards ffs.
It's about standards and effort **** all of that today. Just doing the bare minimum again. But the players know they don't have to bother because 90% of our fans will clap them regardless
I think what I found most disappointing about the first half is that I don't particularly think tactical set up was the main issue. It was more the fact we didn't match their intensity in any way at all. Would almost go as far as saying we bottled the occasion.
I agree. I said much earlier that maybe too much was made of the derby, actually. They looked terrified of making a mistake.
Yeah agreed, I said after Watford that I was concerned we might be a bit fairweather/soft and that was on show again today. Pressure can go one of two ways, can spur teams on or make them retreat into their shell a bit. Really needs sorting as we'll have to be able to handle pressure if we're going to challenge for promotion spots.
When Archer rounds the keeper here. I expect at least 2 of our players to bust a gut to get to the ball. They didn't. They're either ****ing ****, or they don't care. I'll let the happy clappers decide which it is
What was obvious was an awful lot of effort had gone into telling the players they cannot **** this up and very little into saying this is a great occasion! Go be a hero!
I think they made loads of mistakes in the first half. The passing was dreadful. Portsmouth always seemed to have cover and we were constantly under pressure from their press. There were moments in the 2nd half where I feel we baffled Portsmouth yet there was no end product and the rookie keeper was not tested. I think we need to stick with Still. I agree about the standard of French football. Take away the top teams and tge others are effectively League One level. I have been to a few matches in France where I have watched teams like Auxerre and Troyes. The standard is not very high. This is a step up for Still and early days. He will come good but I think we need to wait until November to start to see an impact.
