Liverpool have won the race to sign Wycombe teenage sensation Jordan Ibe.

The Reds have beaten a host of other Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Spurs, to the signature of one of the hottest prospects in the Football League.

The 16-year-old, who shot to fame by scoring a wonder strike against Sheffield Wednesday in October, is in his final year at secondary school in South London and will make the move to Merseyside next summer for a fee of around £500,000.

It is believed that the League One outfit decided cash in on the teenager before the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) comes into effect at the start of next season. The plan will see tribunals replaced with set tariffs for homegrown players.

Any of you Wycombe fans know much about him?

He has unbelievable tekkers, one of the most skillful players to play for us in a long time now. Despite his age he is also very well built and is very fast, so should cope with one day stepping up to the prem. At the moment he is already league 1 if not pushing championship quality and I'd definitely back him to reach the top one day.

    Interesting.

I'm glad we're investing in young players.

    Good.

He's top quality IMHO. Very pacey, skilful, has an eye for goal, and has a level head for someone of his age. To be honest i believe this kid is the best young prospect in English football, better than both Suso and Sterling in my opinion. Look forward to seeing him at Anfield

bags of potential. Yet another product of our youth system making the step up. Just a shame we wont see him mature in Blues shirt :( Good luck to the lad though.

Let him come back on loan. He's already getting first-team football here.
