I really felt for Scienza. Every time he got it he was lumped and a freekick given against him for breathing near a pompey player. No idea how good he is from that. Jander though! I have a very good feeling.
Couldn’t hear anything from the Northam. Supposed to be 5,000 fans there, and yet they can’t be heard 100 yards away.
Disappointing but realistic result if I'm being honest. A team needs more time than two weeks to gel, we'll smash them at Fratton on our way to promotion under Will Still.
Are there people seriously okay with a point? We were at home and were outplayed by our biggest rivals who we have ten times the budget of. ⁸ We barely created a chance ffs. Game's (Fanbase) gone.
Think Downes was absolutely useless today. Probably a bit harsh but definitely very poor especially when you consider he’s one of our most expensive players with good experience. Think this game came way too early for us, manager & new players. I’m sure it’ll get better but personally I’m running out of patience with Downes.
You don't 'have' an aneurysm. They just occur and can sit there for years with no ill effects or they burst and can be lethal if of the aortic variety.
That’s an acoustics problem. It was loud in it, same for the Pompey fans, they couldn’t be heard in the Northam.
I started typing something, but decided there's no point. Wake me up after another four games. We might have something positive to talk about
I am sure that if we had not been playing the Skates a lot of these posts would not have been as brutal.
But at least we get to laugh at Russell Martin. (Even though we looked far better under him than with Still).
Was decent where I was in the chapel corner near them. Patchy at times but the best this season by a million miles. However it's no surprise that the best their support at St Mary's comes when there isn't singers both sides of them. The Northam wall is a failed experiment.
I don't think people are happy, just realistic. First game playing Stills preferred formation, and using almost all of the new players we brought in (after an Int break as well). Portsmouth also created nothing. Portsmouth also have a settled manager and squad who know what they're doing when it comes to how he wants them to play.
When Adkins took us up we didn't beat Pompey in either game. Played much better yes but didn't beat them.
I think there’s a good middle ground to be had. It should be acknowledged that Still has some new players that need to adapt to the team and this is not the ideal game for it so this game is not a reflection of the team that will no doubt end the season. BUT that is still no excuse to turn up to a derby game and have your rivals leave the pitch the happier team and fanbase. You can’t have 32,000 fans absolutely ready for a huge derby and not create a single promising chance at goal nor seemingly any sort of coherent attack play until 70 minutes into the game. It was a very very poor performance.
