This is going to sound a little silly and I don't mean it disrespectfully. I'm surprised at the timing, purely because of the Manchester Derby today. He was supposed to be going, too. Obviously it's not a massive thing, but sometimes these keep people going. RIP Ricky. Really enjoyed watching a lot of his fights. Lost to two of the all-time greats in Pacquiao and Mayweather. No shame in that.
Although he was a massive city fan, he did unite the city of Manchester. Everybody wanted Ricky to win. He took thousands and thousands of fans for those big fights in Las Vegas. It’s usually the heavyweights that steal the show, but I don’t think there was a more box office fighter than Hatton at his 10 stone peak!
Yeah, I don't think that the Americans knew what was going on! They don't generally seem to get some of the cult fighters that British fans get behind. Ricky Hatton was never boring and that's the biggest crime anyone can commit for boxing fans.
15th September - 9 County Championship games, but only play in one of them. The final round of games ends on 1st October. I thought cricket was a summer sport? The weather might decide a lot of the remaining issues.
That’s the one game that’s being played! Not a ball bowled elsewhere. If Surrey can get to 120-2 or better by lunch, they should be in charge of the game..
Things changed fast and Notts are certainly in pole position now. But Surrey are probably the only side that you'd expect to turn it around tomorrow.
Conditions are the key. It’s looked bowler friendly but it did get easier for the Notts lower order. Chasing 300 might be tough though even for this strong Surrey batting lineup. Is it going to rain? That’s another factor - although there should be enough time in the game to get a result with two days left. 10 wickets for Fisher who they signed from Yorkshire. Good bowler in typically English swinging conditions. He got picked for England but has had a lot of injury problems. Surrey are so strong in all departments and have great strength in depth.
Surrey back in the box seat... Weather may still play a part, but 249 needed and 10 wickets in hand on a pitch that is very tame.
