Why I prefer isador as impact sub can run at tired defensive legs but RLB knas more than me so I trust him
I thought Isidor actually did pretty well yesterday. Best I’ve seen him play from the start for a while.
Sunderland AFC should be reported for theft!!!! Roefs, Reinildo and Mukiele for that amount is bewildering to me, just goes to show that there are bargains out there... Back to the match, for me the 3 above probably the best of a great bunch of players. Also need to mention Sadiki's energy is other-worldly, you could see when he was substituted, our levels drop and we sat back a bit deeper. He, for me is a constant unsung hero. Keep it up lads.
It was a really hard game to come on and make your debut, I have confidence that our team upstairs will have chosen well.
Theres a few murmurs OTR about Adringra, Talbi and Diarra and then Brobbey got some crap yesterday too. I still can't believe people choose to write our players off after a couple of appearances when theres a track record of our signings doing well. Complete lack of patience but also how many times have people ended up with egg on their face for calling out new signings when they've only just got a foot in the door? Lastly, we're 7th in the table with 7pts from 4 games as a newly promoted side. Both wingers have already set goals up and Diarra looks incredibly athletic in the middle. Brobbey didn't inspire yesterday but its ridiculous to rule him out as no good already.
Those that are discontent will always be discontent about something mate, the more sensible amongst us will be happy and realistic about our progress so far.
Brobbey looked miles off the pace but today was his first football since May so he'll need to be eased in. Thought Talbi and Adingra both had moments, but also drifted out the game a lot. That may be more to do with the midfield battle and how much of the play was through the middle of the park. Thought Diarra looked good and had lots of energy.
Just catching up on the thread. Was out last night and properly hungover this morning!! Over the moon with the result and the performance. What I wanted to see was us giving a good account of ourselves and we more than did that! Roefs is superb!! He made more saves than my 10 year old lap top! What a great start to the season!
Mukiele mind, he is absolutely superb at CB and many were saying he was better at RB. He must be Hakimi bothering levels at RB based at what we’ve seen with his effortless, calm and dominant CB displays. He and Alderete look a lovely pair, Again, folk said Alderete could be better on the ball, but he’s graceful as ****, composed and his passing is tidy. I don’t know that we’ve ever had a better CB pairing in my 40 plus years, and with Geertruida, LON and Ballard there as well? Superb. Trai has just not missed a beat, it’s like he took the Mags game in the cup as a harsh lesson and from minute 1 in Prem he’s been ‘my time’. He’s been superb. Got a cheeky ‘Trai special’ in yesterday as well. The attacking side will come together, it will blend. The talents there. The condition of the back 5 (and cover) is absolutely superb. Palace had the last 10 mins but that’s as we’d clearly decided at that stage to protect the point, that was evident by the subs. I didn’t mind protecting that point as watching I was thinking ‘be a right kick in bollocks to get nowt now’. It was a very good, very professional away day, managed well by Reg and the coaches, and as has been said throughout this thread we look every part a PL side.
Mad that there was a narrative around him and KLD ain’t it. Absolutely crazy that that went on, for a sustained period as well.
Kna it’s hard to tell but had we played that with the vast majority of the side that got us promoted can’t help but feel Wedve ost that game yesterday
Unquestionably mate. We will always love those lads and what they did for us last season but we’d have been overran physically. We’d have lost to Brentford too. It’s great that there’s some staying in the side and getting good minutes but any suggestion that the playoff side would have been good enough is purely romanticism. Palace moved the ball quick, they were string, quick everywhere and athletic. You could see they a good side. The way Mukiele pocketed Mateta (who even so still showed some levels above what we had back to goal and layoff play) was superb.
When I've been collecting feedback for collective meetings in the past, people have said things like "tell Speakman he can **** off!" I mean do they really think I can sit in a professional meeting and say to his face "oh yes and some spenk from an internet forum wants you to **** off"
Haven’t heard ‘spenk’ for years and that made me laugh out loud haha. Even the way the club has managed Ghisolfi coming in been superb, kept Speakman doing the main media work, not undermining him one bit.
