Not the inspiring or optimistic start we all hoped for from the Horns. And an earthquake at Bramell Lane - maybe Sheff Utd are still finding their feet again after their play off defeat, or are Bristol City a team to watch this season. On here there is no doubt about the poster of the round with Chris clocking up a massive 144, and with Mrs Andy and Andy slotting into second and third. Fez also off to a good start. For most of us it was a case of feeling our way into the new season. The Steptoes up next for the Horns.​

Thanks Cologne, good start to the season, still in the top 20 with a few of us oldens still behind me.

Good to see the Hornets kick starting their season today, especially with so many other teams struggling to get going. Few of us would have tipped both Sheffield clubs and Derby to be pointless after two matches, or for Stoke City to be top. No change in the top two places on here but the days highest scores for Charlie (115) and Yorkie (95) have pushed them both right up the table to joint third. Most of us are struggling to identify any real form in the league at the moment. ​

As is often the case when the Hornets gain a predictable result a massively high scoring round for us this week with 5 of us topping the hundred mark. Andy must hide his blushes because Mrs Andy has stormed to the top with a massive round total of 150. Other high scores by Mrs Fez (131) bringing her up into 4th, by Frenchie, also in joint fourth, Scully who moves up onto Yorkies neck, and by Charlie who goes into second. So how will the form go - are Middlesbrough and Stoke City really the ones to watch out for and are the expected teams such as Southampton and Sheff Utd suddenly going to wake up. Needless to say none of us got the Coventry-QPR result right.​

Lots of banana skins around this week when it came to tipping. QPR suddenly found their feet, Wrexham recorded their first win and Oxford Utd did better than most of us expected. In fact of the 5 games which any of us tipped correctly - 4 of them went down as unique scorelines. A very low scoring round for most of us, and perfect for making hay with a high score - which Frenchie did through being the only poster to get the horns result spot on. NZhorn also got into the 90s and Yorkie into the 60s but elsewhere most of us were feeding on scraps. Mrs Andy still leads but the gaps at the top have narrowed a lot. We now have a break next weekend for internationals.​

Another week of difficult tipping for us with 5 draws, 4 away wins and only one home win. This, together with the Horns losing led to a very low scoring round on here. Highest of the round was Seb with 83 followed by Mrs Andy with 75 and myself with 69. All the top places remain unchanged though Mrs Andy has increased her lead.

Not sure about this but we may have the lowest scoring round here, at least I can't remember a lower one. Obviously the Hornets brand of anti football (neither exciting or effective) is leading to low scoring on here, but elsewhere a strange pattern has emerged over at least the last two rounds. The idea 'when in doubt go for the home win' isn't working - over the last two rounds there have been only 4 home wins and no less than 9 away wins, which has driven our points totals to a record low. Also the teams down from the Premiership are not exactly setting the league alight and those up from division one are doing better than expected - tipping Wrexham results is proving especially difficult. The highest scores from this round were those who accurately predicted the Horns to lose 0-1 and Mark, Matej and Fez moved into the 60s range because of this. Mrs Andy still leads, followed by Charlie and Mark. Frenchie - I couldn't find your tips anywhere - if they are around somewhere can you direct me to them and I will update the table. The Blackburn v Ipswich match was void - abandoned after 80 mins and will have to be played again in full as far as I know (lucky they're not in the Netherlands because if they were then Ipswich would have to travel to Blackburn again for only the missing 10 minutes !​
