They caught the suspected killer. Sounds like he confessed to his father so pretty certain he's guilty. Not much about him other than his name Tyler Robinson, age 22, religion is Christian (his minister identified him). Nothing about motive yet- and whether it is as cut and dry as he just took a shot at taking out a prominent right wing person down for political reasons or something else more specific.

I mean you're both right. He is (or was) a white, Republican, gun loving Christian and also an anti fascist dating a trans woman. (A lot of Republicans are also against fascism) Presumably felt quite conflicted about his right wing Christian upbringing and being attracted to a trans person and flipped. If you've ever noticed atheists that become Christians often become the most outspoken and vice versa, Christians who become atheist tend to be the most aggressive to other Christians. He spent his whole childhood probably hearing about how trans people are evil and then fell for one and his life flipped upside down and he did something really stupid and regrettable.
He may well have flipped against his family, but that could just as easily be to even further right, just as much as flipping left. The whole transgender story is falling to pieces as well in that IF his roommate was transitioning, there's no evidence at all at this stage they were romantically linked, although IF he has become a devotee of Fuentes, it could well be that he has become a trans sympathiser, as Fuentes is alleged to swing that way.
