Player Ratings. Darlow - 8. Not much to do but dealt with crosses, made a couple of decent saves. Kicking was decent. Couldn't do anything about the goal. Bogle - 8. Solid defensively and offered a threat in attack. Rodon - 8. Defensive rock and good organiser back there. Drove forward with the ball at times. Struijk - 6. Struggled against Muniz. Ref gave the benefit to Muniz everytime but Pascal couldn't find the answer. Gudmundsson - 7. A very good performance both in defence and attack. Marked down for the own goal but those things happen once or twice in a career. Ampadu - 7. Controlled the centre of the park and dictated the play. Right place at the right time performance. Stach - 7. Ref certainly had it in for the big German and he gave a few free kicks away. Strong performance but a couple of wayward passes and a drop in his first few games where he was outstanding. Still a very solid 7 though. Longstaff - 8. Carried on from the Newcastle game with a very solid midfield performance. Hit the bar and never stopped running. Man of the Match for me. Aaronson - 8. Worked tirelessly at both ends of the pitch. Created the headed chance for DCL and gave Bogle lots of protection. Noticeably more vulnerable after he went off. Okafor - 7. A very promising first start in the league. Good passing range and was eager to take his man on every time. Could be key to us this season. Calvert-Lewin - 7. Battled well up top but never really got the service. Maybe should have done better with the headed chance 1st half. Subs. James - 4. Went off injured but he hasnt looked fit all season. Nmecha - 6. Struggled to get involved as Leeds sat back for the final part of the game. Harrison - 6. Never really got involved. Gnonto - n/a. On for James. Won a throw in but the ref cheated to give Fulham the win.
I think we can all see that Farke can tell the owners your useless window has cost us three points today. We were defensively sound, we competed well in the middle barring a couple of wayward passes. We also had the chance to go in at half time one or two up. We bossed the first half without capitalising. We did pretty well in the second half but it’s up front where we lack a cutting edge. Okafor showed promise but still not firing yet and doing what Solomon did. Aaronson was ok and almost scored with a snatch flick. Dan James a worry, DCL I thought did ok and he battled and maybe should have scored, but in fairness he must be almost ready now. Last season I think we averaged 18 shots per game and today we registered half of that so need to make them count A freak goal beats us in the last seconds but clearly demonstrates what we need up the other end
Spot on but as transfer window is done and we’re not getting anything in January either that’s as good as it’s likely to get. Our esteemed owners also doing a great job of getting sevco relegated north of border too
Don't let the result hide the fact that we more than coped with a decent PL side. We've been the better side against Everton who have gone on to show they could be very much improved this season. Arsenal hammered us. We were the better side against Champions league Newcastle and now we've gone to Fulham and had a real chance of beating them. Very unlucky to lose. Keep these performances up and we will pick up points.
All true but conversely sides who struggle to score eventually seem to lose their spirit if they don’t pick up points. So we need to start picking them up.
Absolutely. Thats why i mentioned the Farke mistep in the presser when he was questioning the ability of his squad. It soon turns to a loss of confidence in the players. A win at Wolves would do us a world of good. Its a game we can win for sure given today's performance.
DCL just needs a fluke off his knee to get him started. He's getting into the right places so I'm hopeful. I didn't think Muniz offered them any more. When you consider the talent they brought off the bench we were always going to struggle but it was such a cruel blow at the end. I thought Bogle played well again but he needs to learn when to release the ball in the final third. Okafor will be a threat for us once he's settled in. I thought our MF was excellent today. They never really let Fulham dictate. Aaronson ran his nuts off and, I agree, we lost something when he went off. I really was encouraged by that performance. We went toe to toe away from home and deserved something out of it. MOT
Sunderland’s keeper their man of the match. It is possible for bang average northern teams to get results in London Good to see the spammers getting rinsed
The player we missed out on, started against us today, looked crap and was substituted so I’d strongly argue he wouldn’t have made a difference to the scoreline
he did take a nice free kick though, which was apparently part of the requirement good save from Darlow, it swung really late and he nearly dived past it. Cracking save from Kevin later on too… he must be The least exotically named Brazilian footballer in history.
if this ‘the smug’ guy is charming, witty, intelligent, handsome, modest and delusional then yeh I’m like him
We have three of the current bottom four in next five games. A chance to pick up a right few points if we can get the forwards firing
That should be 9 points on paper so we shall see what the moods like after that. Brentford picking up a point yesterday hasnt helped, Sunderland picking up a point in London was great for them and luckily WHU and Wolves both got beat
I honestly think 1 point away from home at Wolves would be a good result but a win would be nice. Can’t see us getting more than 1 point against Bournemouth/Tottenham, both very good side. A draw at Burnley would be a good result too but again, ideally a win. West Ham at home is the biggest one we should be winning/need to win. Just hoping Potter is still there and they’ve not got Nuno by that point. With those results we’d be still averaging over 1 point per game after West Ham and that’s where we need to be.
Our problem is always going to be: saying one point is a good result, it’s really not in this league. I agree one point yesterday would have been a great result, but a freak goal killed that. We need luck and so far the gods aint on our side
Echo what a few have said. Tidy performance, just lacking in the final third. We do need a result and hopefully the way this game ended will have made all the players wanting to redress the misfortune we suffered yesterday. A win at Wolves would make the horrible feeling last night, not seem so bad. A fair few positives, but our inability to create and finish chances may sadly be a recurring theme all season. MOT
I wouldn't pay too much attention to the table and who is in the bottom three at this point. 10-15 games in is when the table takes a true reflection.
