We’ll be alright mate. I’m not even concerned anymore about relegation. We’ve got genuine quality right throughout the team now.

Oh and Palace went down with 49pts in the first premier league season but that was when they played 42 games!

Solid professional performance today… onus was on them to break us down, but we were well drilled and when they did break through Roefs was amazing… we have a strong squad these days

What is that statistic that one of the commentators said today about any newly promoted team that have achieved so many points after so many games have never been relegated???

A really good point. We were well organised and gave them a good game without really testing them.

For a team with so much newness it’s really positive seeing the cohesion and structure defensively as well as the team spirit. We will need to get better in the final third and get our wingers on the ball more but that will come.

The commentator said, 'Mateta hasn't had protection from the referee all game' <laugh>

Don't trust stats. I remember getting relegated with 40 points!

    A great point.

We got Roefs in and theres another point hes won us. 7pts from 4, I can't imagine theres a single Sunderland fan who isn't happy with that start.

Definitely saved by the brilliant Roefs who stopped a few half chances. I hope Brobbey becomes as good at leading the line as Mateta. Nevertheless that is a really really good point to pick up and exactly what we need away. The front lads need to threaten the goal more mind. A bit easy to nullify.

Just in after the bairns last cricket game of the season so didn't see the game

Absolutely delighted to get a point, sounds like we really dug in and Roefs had a blinder. Looking forward to seeing the highlights.

    Ha'way the wizards.

Would always have settled for that.

My main satisfaction is that we've played three games against PL sides and have been properly competitive in them. There are some very good players in that side. We keep that up we'll win some of them and pick up points. Altogether, extremely impressive for a team with so many new players put together in such a short time. Some seriously good coaching must be going on there.

    7 points ahead of Wolves.

    Let’s not overlook that.

Under pressure in the last fifteen, but before that , at least held our own I thought.

Leeds look really poor shape as well.

West Ham likely fire Potter after this and get Nuno so I’m not classing them as ****ed.

Good to hear that, how did Brobbery look when he came on? I assume he was brought on to make it stick up top to relieve a bit of the pressure.
