It's a no brainer for BBM but how often do Keepers win the players award???? Usually a totally overlooked position until they drop a clanger!!
BBM has done nothing. You'd expect us to tear up L1 what with us having a team full of championship players. We've got the same squad as got relegated. The pundits keep saying, so it must be true.
Some good insight into training on the city website. Osho and Kellyman fully involved. Osho with a heavily strapped left knee. Spotted Turnbull, but not sure about Robertson. https://tv.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/videos/c7888ed2-e769-4432-bc83-a6a78b3c0183
Points to note in the shooting practice: - 1. The defenders were a bit static and no one was assaulting Salech. 2. The keeper got beaten - a lot. 3. Wasn't that Robertson walking towards the camera about 4/5ths of the way through. With Turnbull training on grass, apart from. Tanner and King we must have close to a fully fit squad. I thought the strapping on Osho's knee looked more like basic support tape. Interesting selection decisions for BBM on Saturday.
I agree it's easier for strikers when they're not being assaulted. Finishing looked good. Not much chance for the keeper. Its why I said 'not sure' about Robertson. In BBM's pre-match interview he said Turnbull will be in the match day squad, Robertson wouldn't. He also said Ruben was touch and go. First time I've seen Osho. Looks a bit gangly for a CB. Kellyman looks fragile. BBM down playing his involvement as he isn't 'fully fit'. It'll be interesting to see who plays 10 if Ruben is out.
Another good interview from BBM. Modest, realistic, but focused and determined. The interview with Lawlor was sound as well. A very grounded young man. https://tv.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/videos/cd7bd98b-46a7-41c0-8c7b-dd3e903b0e74
I think he'll stay a bit. He knows which side his bread's buttered. Playing week in week out for a manager with a reputation for developing youngsters, and playing with his mates. A season at this level and he'll have his pick of top end championship/ lower end Premier league clubs. Another season and he'll be eyed up by all but the top few clubs. And for us? We could have sold him now for a couple million (his Welsh cap will have added 500k), at the end of the season for 4-5, and at the end of next season for 7-10. I hope he's seen how many go to big clubs and end up in the 21s or on loan. Might as well get some game time while enjoying your mam's home cooking.
Including cup games, 10 played, 17 scored, 3 conceded. As important, 10 different scorers. Goals from all over are a good way to go.
As proved by our first Prem promotion under Malky in 2012/13. Helguson was our top scorer with just 8 goals out of a league total of 72.
Just out of interest, looks like we're dominating the Beeb League One football page as well. Just looked in and of the 24 story flags up on the the first page, no less than 9 of them are about Cardiff City - the other 23 clubs share the rest. We must be important to this division for BBC League One club news..............
The biggest clubs always dominate And of course, being the capital city club and the biggest club side in the country, we're bound to attract headlines.
