The suspect sounds like he may have come from our Academy.

His attempt to gain German citizenship lead a problem due to his lies about length of his residence and claimed address in Hamburg.

"In a worldwide exclusive, the SKWAWKBOX can reveal reports that not only did Nigel Farage apply for a German passport, but he did so on the day after the EU referendum – and is under police investigation for allegedly providing false information.
Mr Farage was reported to the police by a concerned German citizen with an interest in British politics, who knew of the application and believed it could not have been made legitimately.

German law normally requires 8 years residency – with only minimal absences – in order to qualify for a passport. For those with a German spouse – Mr Farage’s wife is German – the length of residency is reduced to 3 years’ continual residency. Mr Farage has not, according to the complainant, come anywhere near meeting those requirements but, on the application form, used the Hamburg address of a relative of his wife to claim residency."

Reports are saying the suspect was turned in by their father. This detail could be a good thing regards some de-escalation; not only the suspect being caught, but family values and morality demonstrably being displayed to America. Here's hoping.

Not a problem for me, guilty or not there was no way he could have had a fair trial with the interference from the internet...

Trump has already said he wants the death penalty but he may offer to plead guilty in exchange for life in prison. If that is on the table at all. I get the feeling he'll be made an example of and (eventually) executed.

Ich bin ein Hamburgler!' Some good sleuthing there.

The path is clearing for Farage likely to be elected PM, which intersects with the Trumpian ideology he's adjacent to - ideology that has aimed to erode truth and respect for expertise that these political brands require to flourish. If he gets in, he'll find it tougher under parliamentary scrutiny, PMQs, and committee processes. He'll also have his own 'thorn in the side' - Reform MPs - to account for too.

The state's governor said he'll push for it. Utah is pretty hardcore, it "offers" firing squad as an option to those on death row.

I believe Farage has 4 years to get his sh/t together. There is no way he will last that long without being found to have done something seriously wrong which results in formal investigation.

He is more likely to serve a custodial sentence than a term as PM.

Utah governor going in quite hard on the videos etc shared on various platforms (including the videos of Iryena getting stabbed) and calling social media a cancer on society.

I agree with the right ring press hounding, it’s incessant. Does mean there is less wiggle room which they should know of course. I can not believe the coverage Garage gets. Absolutely crazy.

Won’t he have a case that he’ll never get a fair trial if people are already demanding a certain outcome. That could cause issues - in a normal society.

They're likely gonna seize the opportunity do something performative - maybe unprecedented - if the defendant turns out be left wing. While enshrine Kirk as a foundational eternally young MAGA martyr, akin to Horst Wessel.

There's probably something suitably Orwellian lurking in the mind of Stephen Miller that was a bit "rich" for Project 25.

    It’s deeply, deeply Horst Wessel.

So this whole angle that Robinson was possibly a groyper (nope, me either, google it) is a bit of a twist to this whole gruesome tale. Groypers hate Kirk by all accounts. Not that Trump will allow that to be the narrative.

It is shocking that the Democrats are being blamed for this assassination. Channel 4 have been quoting Kirk and I find it truly shocking what he stood for. The Republicans are using the argument of free speech to condemn Kirk's execution whereas the real issue is that by peddling hate people will be offended and will pursue illegal and immoral actions to counter this no matter how unacceptable.

I feel that this assassination is a wake up call for everyone. A lot of the problem in America is that their people are uneducated and there is no feasible Left to set a progressive, moral tone. I really think that America needs a progressive, Left wing voice that is not tainted by the Democrats legacy of scandal.

It seems actually that this is more down to the poisonous vitriol radicalising people in the darker corners of the internet, such as 4Chan.

Good to see the admirable Clive Lewis coming out and and declaring that Starmer is not fit for the job as Labour leader. I hope someone has the balls to make a serious challenge from the Left and that some of our more esteemed politicians can be brought in from the cold to form a pukka Labour government that upholds the values of the party's suppporters.

The appointment of Mandelson was brave but I am shocked that Starmer appears to have ignored the advice he was given regardless of the fact that Mandelson should not be in the Labour Party itself.

A Labour party the governs by it's principles will be more than a match for Farage. Given the fact that the Tories are weak and Labour have such a majority, there is an opportunity to make a genuine difference to how this country is run and how it deals with rogue states like Russia and Israel.
