Some of the major ones clearly have. Or they wouldn't have renewed at all as opposed to renewing late.
Fair enough. Sounds like these small suppliers need to band up and go public to embarrass the club to pay.
I doubt they’d do that They’re probably fans and it’s good for their business to be associated with city Suppliers to hull city etc but go back to Pompey going pop All the players got paid the owner walked away losing nowt but All the local suppliers got nowt with some going bust
I found this looking for Pompey stuff fro n years ago this administration meant they could be bought by new owners, who paid a fraction of the debts that were owed – except at Southampton, where last year Markus Liebherr paid Saints' debts in full. Since 2002, when ITV Digital's collapse helped push 10 clubs over the edge, an estimated £200m due to creditors has been left unpaid, including sums owed to the police, local councils, hospitals, universities and other public bodies, a Yellow Pages-worth of small businesses and, most unforgivably, St John Ambulance. The charity does not charge to tend sick and injured fans at matches, but asks only for expenses, for supplying bandages, equipment, an ambulance if needed. Clubs overspending on players' wages in the push for success have let St John's bill fall into arrears with all the others; Darlington's £9,040.79, in 2003, was the largest amount left unpaid. St John is careful not to cry outrage, stressing instead the valuable work its volunteers do. But this week Sue Killen, the chief executive, did venture to say: "We understand that we are not clubs' only creditor, but as a charity we can't afford to provide this service without some support. Generally clubs appreciate that."
Backed up by the Baz cooper, HDM, Mike White, RH and Phil Buckingham, Athletic. And Acun's own admissions via club communications and an independent EFL panel. And the fact of late paid wages as far back as April. So only unsubstantiated if you're either you, or GFAW.
There cannot be 'evidence' in a case like this, it boils down to trust and if you think what people have told you is a crock of s*** then fine, you do you. Suck Acun off if you want to its a free country. But when HT2 or M88EVN tell you we are signing a player why is it OK to trust them, but when the news is bad it's all of a sudden a made up agenda? The fact is there are several unpaid suppliers, dating back to 2024 in at least one case. The staff are powerless as the Turks take the money before they can even act, sometimes causing wages to be late (if you believe the wages were paid late of course). Some debts relate to the SMC but it's still Acun and still an absolute mess. The guy has done something on paper to try and pretend he is a decent bloke. Hence the club social media post about him doing it. Since when did clubs post gash like that? It's all for show.
Agree, even after a £15m cash injection the club still can’t afford to pay a couple hundred to a small local creditor. It’s a disgrace.
it’s not a cash injection, it’s just writing off some of the loan. Other than lower debt repayment, makes no impact to our cash flow
I saw a woman on facebook praising him like he was some kind of hero. He has basically moved some numbers around on a balance sheet and can very easily put them back at any point in the future. We are still losing money every day and have no way of improving that unless he sells a player. I'm baffled by how anyone can see this as anything more than what it actually is.
I agree. Writing off £14.5 million is a positive step but he really needs to follow it up with a sale.
**** me!! Some of the comments on here. And so it goes on. And, a related thought, isn't it odd how just because some of us choose to believe actual facts (and yes, 950th time, he ****ed up with the EFL) you have to therefore be sucking Acun off or up his arse. FFS, talk about infantile. It's like being branded a far right Nazi just because you care about the country. Honestly, what's wrong with some people.
He ****ed up before the EFL got involved, not ****ed up with the EFL. I hope we are seeing a wake up call. Oh, and you can care about the country and still be a far right nazi too. It's not mutually exclusive. Fact.
