Anyone here vaguely mechanical? I just bought a new car battery and it came out of the plastic bag wet. When I tip it, battery acid comes out.

    That isn’t normal, right?

It depends on whether the battery is a sealed unit or not. I thought all modern batteries were sealed but apparently not.
This link will give you a better idea of the construction of car batteries. If you have a sealed unit and battery acid is escaping, you have a problem. The non sealed units can leak if they are turned onto their side or upside down.
If you are still unsure put a picture up.

It isn't normal, and I suggest that you take it straight back to the place where you bought it, hopefully a reputable shop. If they don't want to refund or replace the battery, mention the Consumer Rights act.

But don't get physical if they refuse. You could be charged with assault and battery. And put in a cell.

Save some of the acid just in case it's needed as a drink on Sunday afternoon.

Would that be all of the intestine or just a semi colon? Ok I'll stop now.

7.30? Jeez, are they coming round to your house to do it?

Just to say, I do know something about this subject and also know what the "prep" involves. But I can tell you that the procedure is painless and with sedation you probably won't remember anything. You'll also have a great video to show your relatives at Christmas.
    Hope everything goes well.

This isn’t the first time I’ve undergone this procedure .
Indeed it’s the second time in a year where the prep hasn’t worked first time round .

Perhaps those people who have said for years I’m full of sh*t have a point <yikes>
