I was searching our Board the other day looking for a post from about 2 or 3 years ago and was alarmed to discover the number of contributors who are no longer active. Out of interest I did a quick calculation across the top 4 divisions and found that currently there are only 18 Clubs with active Boards and more than 5K contributions, 8 active with less than 5K contributions, 3 Clubs who started but are no longer active and a massive 61 who have never started up. Is Not606 in slow decline? What, if anything, can be done to contact and attract a wider audience? Is there any way of contacting our lost contributors to try and persuade them to return? If not will this site still be operating in 2 or 3 years time?
There is nowhere near as many posters as when I was last on here many years ago.....It's probably because I left.
We had the massive influx of users when BBC 606 died, and there's been very little new blood since. Just look at the join dates of most of our members. It's tricky, we're a bit of an internet backwater that you only find it you know about it. We've tried "advertising" with twitter feeds, etc, but it never felt like it amounted to much. It was a lot of effort to maintain manually, and Twitter made running bots to post basically impossible without paying. For anyone who joined after 2018ish, I'd love to know how you found this place.
IMO, this forum is a legacy of what used to exist on t'internet - and now the likes of reddit appear to be one of the most active forums with over 8K followers https://www.reddit.com/r/NorwichCity/ and regular contributions. I just popped over to https://www.wrathofthebarclay.co.uk/interactive/board/ which says it has 12K + followers (!), and 63 currently online. I remember it being the alternative forum to Not606 where threads were a bit less moderated than the old BBC board. I guess this board, like many others of its time, are seen as a bit niche, althoug wotb seems to be going strong...
I joined in 2012 but think I just searched for football forums to join. I guess with social media, forums are a bit redundant.
There are 17 regular posters on the Prediction League and at least 10-12 more who don't post there. GozoCanary posted again recently and hopefully he'll join in again. I actually like that sort of number because it encourages more continuing discussions.
Anyone can find it simply by searching "Norwich City football forums". Google, for example, starts by listing six fan forums, we being the sixth.
Hi All, I am one of the original members of this board and back in the day would post extensive Match Day Threads which used to take me ages to put together, I had a relationship break up which hit me really hard so left and since then now only come on here very occasionally. I fell out with one or two due to my politics ha, ha, and my disdain for Delia and her regime, especially Tony_Munky (whatever happened to him?). Best banter I had was with Canary Dave (God rest his soul), we would argue a lot but always remained friends. I still have his mobile no. on my phone and can't bring myself to delete it, that and his Facebook profile I'll try and contribute a bit more now that I'm finished with bl00dy women!
Sorry to hear about your breakup. I was a late comer to this forum but I do remember your excellent match day threads. Almost as good as Duncan's "content to follow"
I joined many years back (cant remember when I originally joined) as JediCanary and had loads of posts, but these have now been lost because I was somehow logged out, and when I tried to log back in, I coiuld not remember my password. I therefore had to set uo a new account under my current name (with the - inserted to avoid doubling up on my original user name) and now only have over 400 posts, where I shoiuld have more.
I also remember your brilliant match threads KIO, as well as your provocative posts to fire up stimulated discussions. It was all part of the fun. Be great to see you back posting more regularly.

Funny thing is that I was only recently thinking of Mike and the fun and games we had with him on the old 606 when we nicked Lambert off them. To be fair he did try and get the Colchester Board going on not606 without any success and he gave up 8 years ago. Come back Mike - all is forgiven!!
Your former self still exists on the board, though it appears he ceased posting in 2021! You can find out when he joined, how many posts he'd made, how many Likes he'd got, and access at least some of his content, via the Not606 Members listing. Make sure you are logged in, click on the MEMBERS link in the topmost horizontal menu bar, then enter JediCanary in the Members search box in the side bar. I "lost" myself too, and had to be resurrected under a new Username. I am working on a post right now inspired by something I posted way back in pre-season 2013 and came across this morning, having followed the above steps in my own case. The 2013 post elicited a response from one carrabuh, whose memory for login details is clearly better than ours
