That could be a deeply philosophical question but coming from you I doubt it.

According to you all Catholics should be shot in the face. Correct?
You see what I have done there? I have completely made something up. Just like you have. You evidently have no clue, so kindly run along. There's a good boy.

Go and make a poll rebel, in fact **** it go around every football forum and make a poll i bet the majority of the celtic fans (the winning margin) say the don't want them - you are a fool that is all.

Offended no nothing offends me, doesn't mean i can't claim something is offensive especially if the majority say it is <ok>

And just incase;

ma·jor·i·ty/məˈjôrətē/
Noun:

The greater number: "in the majority of cases"; "a majority decision".

I should have been clearer. Why the need to place the words inside apostrophe’s? They are not an existential concept. They are rebel songs.

The reason I keep asking is because you are quite clearly confused. You mention chants that could get us into trouble and then you reference a song. So you see it does make it rather difficult to follow your position when you keep changing the parameters.

Furthermore, when you make erroneous statements like the board telling us not to sing Boys of the Old Brigade, it tends to discredit your argument. I am not saying you are a liar, I am saying that you are wrong.

Really? Fields of Athenry is undoubtedly a rebel song. Really? Because it makes a vague reference to an act of rebellion? You see I would call it undoubtedly a lament. Funny how people see things in different ways ain’t it.

Similarly the ballad of Joe McDonnell is a beautiful lament with a powerful chorus. Not one single reference to the IRA in the song. I wonder does the same criteria apply?

So you would prefer the official version of the song be sung <ok> right you are.
I am not sure if you are taking a risk by saying that, what with me being a pedant an’ all

You only made one other point you thick ****.

It is for you to agree with whoever you want that I am wrong. That isn't going to make it so.

A waste of organs....maybe....but that could be said of a lot of folk on here who contribute considerably less to society than I.

Few questions Superhoops. From Mr T. ( have to be careful what I say to a Mister, stuck up bast... not the usual Scottish football fan )

How would you define 'Celtic' security people and what powers should these people be allowed?

Do you think the times Rangers fans sang the songs the opposing fans had a clue what was being said?

Why do a small minority of fans turn up everyday when there is only a game on about once a week?

I believe you mean 'impartial' police rather than 'partial' or were the police double amputees?

Are you this stupid in real life and do you hold down a job? If so, how?

Sorry for delay in answering, despite how stupid it still deserves a reply.
Last point first, Not for me to boast about my intelligence or lack of them. I hold down my job by regular attendance
and by producing better results than my peers.
I know this concept may be strange to a man of your esteem but Scotland like the occupied 6, has a reputation of been bigoted and bias.
It is a fact in both states (and manufactured states) that police taking sides, often because they are bigoted or because they know taking
the side of the "establishment" will earn them promotion. In Scotland and the wee 6 most normal people know that is what happens.
So I would not take a policeman's word for anything.
The minority of fans turn up everyday just to watch the grass grow. Where you trying to be smart?
Well something happened because funny enough the police did not hear anything. The UEFA match delegate and FAIR heard
the Rangers fans, the Rangers fans are usually so monosyllable that the UEFA delegation on a number of occasions and Fair
once did not need a degree in English to understand their crude and nasty chants.
The police of course submitted reports saying Rangers chants were just funny ditties and Rangers got off time and time again.
Notice the partiality of the police Mr T.

Oh righty. What's an apostrophe (or two) between friends?

I'm confused? Hmmmm. I really didn't think this was particularly tricky to follow but to clarify: chants, songs, ditties - I've used them as overlapping or interchangeable terms for the sake of preventing, or trying at least to prevent, my posts becoming incredibly repetitive. Although I'm fairly sure it's just you that's struggling to follow me, to be absolutely certain of not being misunderstood let me be as clear as possible - I believe the celtic fans should avoid singing/chanting about the IRA whether the reference to the IRA comes as a simple chant, a line of a song or the entirety of a song.

As for BOTOB - we were told as far back as the 90s (as part of the Bhoys against Bigotry campaign) that we should stop singing it. Purveyors of the finest 'rebel songs' (sorry rebel songs) Charlie and the Bhoys wrote a song bemoaning this I believe. Now unless the current board has rescinded this request, I'm not wrong in the slightest nor is my argument discredited <ok>

I would consider the fields of athenry as both a lament and a rebel song. I didn't realise these were mutually incompatible terms? To quote wiki (I know, I know <laugh>): "rebel music in Ireland dates back many centuries, dealing with historical events such as uprisings, describing the hardships of living under oppressive rule, but also strong sentiments of solidarity, loyalty, determination, as well as praise of valiant heroes" The underlined bit there would broadly cover the subject of "the fields.." would it not?

I don't have an encyclopaedic knowledge of rebel songs so I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the ballad of Joe McDonnell. I suspect he might have something to do with the IRA given that you've brought him up. Or was he a celtic legend of the 1920s or 30s? Now which would be more suitable for the subject of a song to sing at the football and which is more likely to frowned upon by the police/general public/SFA/UEFA (delete as applicable)?

Oh I see. The official version is the original I suppose (with the ...up the ra lyrics). Well I meant 'official' as in the one 'officially' endorsed by the football club and played over the tannoy. How tiresome.
