Well, if this was gonna happen, at least it's happening now. Not surprised though. His availability this season has been exceptional off the back of an ACL injury. I know Rice is probably going to win our POTS, but I would honestly give it to Timber.
Quality player. Not good though - having full ACL reconstruction then having ankle surgery all within a year. Hope he recovers properly.
If White hadn't had an unexpectedly and unusually long time out with injury, and if Tomiyasu wasn't out for the entire season (which, despite his reputation preceding him, we didn't expect even for his standards), Timber would have been able to be rotated more. Despite everyone else around him falling apart, he's given everything and beyond this season. Hoping he can get through this ok and come back stronger. At least now he can have some proper time off to rest and recover, though.
Good Im hoping Odegaard is fit for Anfield. Would quite like to see... Eze-------Gyokeres------Madueki
Really bad news that Saka is going to miss the Liverpool game, but great that he is missing all the England games. If he's out for a month though he is also missing the City, Forest and Newcastle games. Not good. We're severely weakened without him (and Havertz).
Actually thought It was really good news given how it looked. No serious injury, no surgery just a few weeks rest.
Well yeah - it's probably both. A big blow that he is out for probably 4 important games at the start of the season - but lucky in that it was not longer.
That’s still probably the end of his 2025 football with recovery time and then fitness. I hope he comes back strong in January.
L'Equipe reporting that Saliba is expected to be out for 3-4 weeks. Not ideal, but could have been much worse. I think we will be seeing more of Mosquera though.
Shame to lose him but like you say, it could have been worse. Also Mosquera looks to be a very good CB
Season has stared even worse than we faced last year. Saka , Saliba and Havertz all out We could not afford this with the tough start to the season IMO - will likely be definitive.
For the league, you might be right. But I still have hopes we can go far in the cups. In fact, I think we need to tbh.
I agree - we'll have to do well in the cups. The problem with Saka, Saliba and Havertz, plus others like White is that their seasons are now disrupted. It will take time to get back to top form and fitness once they come back, so in reality they'll all only be a full throttle for half the season (if they don't get another injury).
please log in to view this image Saliba back in training today and fitness will be assessed ahead of the Forest game tomorrow
