I read that as in resigning (quitting) rather than re-signing. English is so awkward.

Never go back! Only move forwards!

Tbf grammatically I probably should have put a hyphen... And my parting from my previous team was amicable. The GM gave me permission to test out the free agency market.

In other news, the Packers man handled the Lions last night. Bit disconcerting as a divisional rival. Hopefully I'll be working from home tomorrow so I can watch the replay of the Vikings game. Otherwise I might have to do some clandestine viewing in the officer (get there early and claim one of the desks where the screen faces towards the wall rather than towards the rest of the office, that's the plan)

What a comeback by Mccarthy and the Vikes after a pretty wretched first 3 quarters on offence!

Having watched the full game early this morning I cannot remember such a momentum swing from one team to the other so quickly. McCarthy looked out of his depth for most of the game but then found confidence after that TD pass to Jefferson. The running game got going as well which always helps (Mason with some good gains).

I do think a better team puts us away so things to work on for sure but to lead your team to a comeback win like on debut that can only be good for McCarthy going forwards.

Shout out to the defence for keeping us in the game and Reichard for that 59 yard FG as well (a Soldier Field record). Turned out to be match deciding kick.

JJ the first QB to lead his team to a win on debut after trailing by 10+ points in the 4th quarter since 1985 and first on the road since 1950.

Oh, and we seem to have finally found a good returner in Price. Gave us some excellent field positions from his returns.

I also want to add, based on last night's game, give me a choice of JJM or Williams as your franchise QB I'm going with McCarthy. What JJ did in the fourth quarter was as clutch as it gets and it wasn't that long after he threw that horrible pick six. While Williams didn't have any turnovers, he relied on his legs a lot and he missed a lot of open targets. All QB's throw picks, but the best QB's forget about it and move on. In a way, it probably helped JJ that the interception got taken all the way for a TD so JJ didn't have any time to dwell on it and went straight back out there.

Extremely lucky that was against the Bears and not anyone any good. Refs screwed the Bears over as well, should’ve been about a 50-3 ball game overall.

All the worst things combined happened and the Vikings looked completely under prepared for 3 quarters. Credit for McCarthy coming back like he did in the 4th but what a horrible game overall

Could say the same for the Bengals TBF. Horrible game against Cleveland, lucked out with a missed FG with 2 minutes left. Chicago played a lot of their first choice players in pre-season, we didn't and it definitely showed. But a win's a win and we have a wretched record on MNF so will more than take it. 2 home games in a row coming up as well so a decent opportunity to get off to a good start.

JJ McCarthy named NFC offensive player of the week. I know his 4th quarter work was impressive but even I think that's a bit generous!

    Apologies, I read NFL <laugh>

makes sense then, as the rest of the nfc games didn’t show any attacking excitement.

Thought Mayfield or Hurts may have won it.

The Packers with a decent win. They’re going to be tough to beat this year, but I don’t see them as SB winners. I think against a top defense they will struggle to put points on the board

NFC seems very open. I wasn't convinced about the Lions this year, even before they lost last week. Eagles probably most complete team but they're not without flaws.

The Eagles will look **** for a good handful of games. We only had our best games in the play offs last year

So my far too late thoughts of the Bears game. The first three quarters were rough offensively, but that last quarter was great. However, even up until that point, there were a few dropped catches by people you wouldn't have expected to drop catches, i.e. Jefferson and Thielen, both of which would have been first downs. Still, given it was JJ's first NFL game, he did very well, obviously it was likely to take him a bit of time to get into the game.... and of course over the next few weeks and months there will be ups and downs, so hopefully people can temper their expectations. Never would have expected him to get more than double the fantasy points of Burrow. Feel like a lot of the Bear's yardage came from Williams scrambling, which I guess is often hard to defend against.

Falcons on Sunday, obviously not staying up for that. I've got an intensive training week at work next week, so no working from home alas, but hopefully I can watch it in the office on a second screen either while working (which I've done before in my previous job) or watch it on my lunchbreak. I've seen DAZN is not blocked on my work computer at least.

Lions putting up 50 points against the Bears. Shoes what a decent offence can do against them
