First pointer - Who is in charge of recruitment?

Does the new regime go after a big name, stick with Paratici or go low key, with someone like Lange?

Second Pointer - Irrespective of results up to January, are we looking to do significant business in that first window?

Not tickling around the edges but bold, first XI improving signings. Maybe Rogers, from Villa...or going back for MGW.

Third and final pointer - come next summer, and is who we actually recruit then?

Not who "we tried" to recruit. That's not available anymore. Removing Levy is pointless if things don’t radically alter.

Ben Davies replaced by a top defender.
RKM only signed if he proves to be better than anyone we could buy for double/treble his price.
A top goalkeeper to go into the first XI.

End next summers transfer window imo

January can be hit and miss for spending

I think the reason is quite self explanatory for why the end of the summer transfer window

As the news that Spurs are not for sale comes out, it does suggest that younger members of the Lewis family have pushed for change. Levy going appears to be the result of a top to bottom review of Spurs. You might imagine that this came about as younger member of the family pushed for change and perhaps Joe resisted but agreed to a review. The review results in the end giving the justification to replacing Levy.
Harry Redknapp has said that he thought Joe Lewis made the final decisions on transfer spending so all of this bile against Levy is probably miss placed. During Levy's tenure Spurs have moved from mid table to top six a complete transformation of the infrastructure and all done in traditional comapny business manner. That should be the model for all PL clubs but clearly it isn't and this is probably one of the issues of behind the scenes discussion.
We still wont know the future of Spurs ownership despite the 'not for sale' messages.
All of this stuff is not really why I like football which is actually to get away from stuff like this<laugh>
The sooner we are diverted by the team actually playing some football the better IMO.

It's not a new regime, though. It's like replacing the singer in a band.
All of the other musicians are the same, they're on the same label and they've got the same manager.

So which is Gillan, and which is Coverdale
(I couldn't do an 80s French synthpop analogy,
so I'll leave that to you) ??

I was thinking more Iron Maiden, to be honest! <laugh>
Did we just get rid of Paul Di'Anno or Bruce Dickinson?
Maybe it was Blaze Bailey? He's bald nowadays...

Venkatesham was supposedly one of the main backers of women's football at the filth.
I wouldn't be surprised if the club do more for the Spurs Birds in the future.

A bit of a dig about player sales there. Not unreasonable in the circumstances.

He's an enabler and a good communicator. No doubt, he's a smart guy, too.

I think we can have faith in him doing a very good job.

The Lewis family are repeating their commitment re backing on player recruitment. I think that they must realise that, the next step in their ambitions for the club, is for it to be more successful on the pitch. Without that backing, we'd already reached our ceiling and were in decline.

    COYS!

The funny thing about this is if you listed the teams with the most trophies in the Levy era, it would probably be in the exact same order only in reverse.

    Interesting comments from Ange today.

Very clearly implies he knew before the final that he'd be sacked come what may.

I think that most people expected it.
I doubt anyone in the game would be naive enough to think he'd be kept on.
I'm certain that someone will prove me wrong, though.
