Scunny's match was abandoned in injury time when a Wealdstone player was stretchered off*, Scunny were 2-1 up,and Wealdstone had used all their subs. The referee and league ordered the match to continue, but Wealdstone's players refused as 'they weren't in the right frame of mind'. * Shoulder injury, hammer the 'do ya want sum' feckers. Was their game at Eastleigh the other night also abandoned deep into injury time? Due to two head injuries. With the score at 1-1...What are the chances of both games being abandoned? Unprecedented or what? So are the National League going to insist they play both games in their entirety again? Or alternatively, the last few minutes. Or more likely decide the scores are in effect the final result...Dilemma or what?
They need to decide pronto, Scunny had two players serving a one match ban yesterday, the score should stand as a result and Wealdstone face a hefty punishment. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Will be interesting to see the outcome, pretty sure the penalty for that is docked points and I’m not sure that the context of the opposition refusing to play excuses that.
Both Bridlington Town and North Ferriby are through to the second round of the FA Trophy. Also through are Jersey Bulls, which would be a hell of an away trip for any non-league team north of Watford.
For anyone interested Youtube video on the Scunny abandonment Seems as if the whole thing turned into a bit of a circus....with the officials telling the crowd very little about what was going on. Piss poor communication. *Match Abandoned - Scunthorpe United 2-1 Wealdstone FC.
FA Vase was played over August, completely forgot about it to be fair. But, if you ever have a free Saturday, these clubs are great clubs not that far away. The only one I've not been to is Skegness Town, but I hear it's a great afternoon and significantly more fun than Skegness itself. Anyway, the first qualifying round saw Beverley Town and Winterton Rangers knocked out straight away. Goole made it through to the next round where they will face Horbury Town at home. Brigg Town are also through and will play Athersley Recreation away, while Pickering Town won their tie and will play Yarm and Edgecliffe. Barton Town play Retford at home, while Skegness Town are at home to GNG Oadby Town. If you can, throw your support behind one of them. Even if you took ten mates (if you have that many) you'd probably smash the attendance record for that round of the Vase.
The League have decided Scunthorpe are awarded the win against Wealdstone, although goals scored are nullified and goal difference remains the same as before the match. Poor for the goal scorers, and could be crucial come next May. The Eastleigh match is to be replayed, which seems fair enough. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Wonder how far Miller is away. If the defence can get there act together, I can see us pushing on! AWOOGA
