Alexander Isak What a blubbing embarrassment of a player. Gushing about his "journey" and how super-happy he is to be a Liverpool legend already. How he wants to give everything for his team-mates and the fans... The very essence of the modern footballer
I was wrong, there is some football news - but it isn't good... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/c9wy4zynww2t I hope the injured players both make swift and full recoveries.
He said it's difficult for England to shine against such limited opposition. Nonsense. Most other teams wallop Andorra by 5, 6 or more goals.
It was said in yesterdays commentary that they’ve actually tightened up of late - having said that their own goal was one that any striker would of been proud of
The only thing tightening up right now should be Thomas Tuchel's He's so obviously the wrong man for the job it's painful to behold. Now come on England, prove me wrong and clobber Serbia.
No Bellingham, Saka or Foden - so not sure if they’re injured or he was confident in winning and rested them while looking at players coming through ?
Anyone else watching Charlton Ladies against Crystal Palace? I've got it on YouTube. You'll need to subscribe to get access, which only takes a minute. As for England, we should be thrashing Andorra et al. In fact, for this type of qualifier, we should only pick players from L1 and L2 and still expect a comfortable victory. Such is my aversion to England matches, I missed it in favour of demosssing my driveway (not a euphemism).
I think a team of League One players in England shirts would have thrashed Andorra. Those players would have had some pride in wearing the three lions, rather than seeing it as a chore. In a qualifying group, the points earned against Andorra are worthless. Every other team is going to beat them home and away. The only useful currency against them is goals scored. And England have messed that up. You can almost guarantee that everyone else - certainly everyone with a chance of qualifying - will bag far more than three goals against the minnows in 180 minutes of football. So GD is now not on England's side in the group. Tuchel is a fool. Having said that, what a p*ss poor group this is. A League One England team with their legs tied together could wrap it up. No wonder fans aren't very interested at this point. FIFA are ruining the World Cup, like they f**k up everything else the self-important popinjays.
If we beat Serbia next week, we will be pretty much qualified. In that respect, Tuchel will see it as mission accomplished. However, scoring three over two matches against a team rated lower than Chad is simply not good enough. I think we could have done with a part-time coach - someone already employed by a club, such as Eddie Howe. I bet my last dime we would have scored more with the eminent Howe at the helm.
I'd prefer the team to get their knees dirty playing football rather than making PC gestures. Granted Southgate was better than Tuchel - but then my old mum would manage the team better than TT.
But.....doesn't Sir Gareth have the highest percentage win ratio of any England manager apart from Big Sam?
The Sainted One was good at winning qualifiers. Not so good at winning Finals. That's what Tuchel was drafted in to do. So maybe I'm pre-judging the German. We haven't played any crunch tournament games under him yet. But the early omens are not encouraging.
Nuno sacked as Forest boss. Was only a matter of time after (probably correctly) calling out the owner
