A reminder seems necessary, that people are entitled to have different opinions about stuff.

Unless they support Portsmouth of course.

I think questioning whether anyone, including Baz, could have stopped the goals we have conceded this season is all part of the after match discussions.
Being the goalkeeper and given Baz's past performances, I don't think it's unreasonable that he gets more scrutiny than others.
He may get abuse elsewhere, he may have got it from some on here previously, but this season? No, I don't think so.

So I think Romsey Saint was not only wrong on that count but then compounded it with this line. The highlighted part suggests the imaginary abuse has also got some imaginary underlying reason for it. I can only guess what he's hinting at.

"I'm sick and tired of the abuse that Baz gets on here, l do start to wonder why that is because it seems excessive."

Putting that to one side, whether Baz could have saved either of the two goals at Watford is debateable but IMO he almost certainly should have saved the penalty against Wrexham.
That is not abuse, it is not me making him a scapegoat, it's an observation without any underlying reason, other than I thought with the ball being so far from the corner of the goal, he should have saved it. Screenshot 2025-09-06 215321.png

He dived after the ball was kicked.

Maybe he was seeing if the player was going to blast it down the middle, like (I personally believe) more keepers should do, as it's often where a penalty goes. There's three choices of direction a keeper can choose. He chose option 2 (a perfectly fair option) and then dived toward option 1 when he realised it was going to his left.

If that's what he was doing, that's a fair point.

Yeah, I mean I have no idea, but I've always thought that in some match situations it's often the best option to expect them to blast down the middle, so happy to give him the benefit of the doubt there.

It's the penalty kick taker that is on a hiding to nothing not the keeper, you really can't blame the latter even if he doesn't save even a soft penalty because as you say he has three options and has no idea where the taker will place it. He just has to pick a side (or stay still) and pray that he guesses correctly.
It's a different case for shots further out during open play as he usually has time to see it coming and dives accordingly.

Yeah true, fair enough. He does get extra scrutiny because of his historical performances.
