I did make the point that we are now in the hands of people who inherited their position rather than worked to get there. It's a matter of luck whether they are up to the job. Yes they appear to have delegated but to what extent we probably won't know, just as we didn't with Joe and Daniel
Depends on what happens. If we can truly find a way of spending a lot more without getting into financial trouble and manage to get more top quality players to join us and win the CL or League in 2028 or after then it is manifestly a good thing. If we get sold to a bunch of criminals it is obviously a bad thing. My suspicion is that we will continue to have the 6th best spend and come about sixth with a trophy every ten years.
Moura and Llorente gave us some great memories and Bale mk11 was a success undermined slightly by Mourinho not using him enough. Seeing Bale Kane and Son together was a real what might have been moment.
Mourino and Poch didn't want them...they only played when there was literally nobody else. Poch opted for an obviously unfit Kane above a fit and in form Moura in our biggest ever game...to disastrous effect. If Levy had stopped buying 'bargains' his coaches didnt want...and forked out for players that they did... ...or coaches who weren't ****ed off with his infernal meddling...maybe he's still chairman...?
Seems there's a restructuring going on there, they also booted Lee Wimot the boss of Aly Gold and Rob Guest last week. Wonder what is going on there?
I had a chat today with someone who knows Levy personally and although he couldn't go into any real detail, he did say that this decision has been brewing for years. I pushed him as much as I could to put a rough date on when it started, and he hinted that questions started to be asked by the younger Lewis' when we sacked Mourinho (i.e. the timing of it), and those questions got significantly louder during our subsequent farcical manger hunt that ended with us appointing our sixth choice, Nuno. He wasn't blamed for Conte but has been blamed since. My own spin on this is that the axe would have fallen earlier had we not achieved CL football again under Conte. Conte spiralling out of control was not something Levy was blamed for; I think we all acknowledged that there were multiple very personal and very serious challenges in Conte's life in his second season that any human being would have struggled to deal with. But the 'review' conducted that summer was seen as Levy's last chance to show that he could make competent decisions, and he failed. Things only got worse on his watch. Announcing a second review on the first review was seen as laughable, understandably.
Apparently they are part of a group called Reach PLC It seems odd that out of all the journo's there only 2 have been dismissed! There's nothing out there that explains it. Going to miss Gold and Guest talk Tottenham, wonder how Ally feels losing some of his closest allies.
Reach basically bought up a bunch of local papers, then sacked staff en masse to turn them into borderline content mills So...yeah, that tracks
And the THHOA have released a statement Yeah, it's about as entitled and self-serving as you can expect
Agree, a top podcast for me. I did get the feeling listening to their last one that we could possibly see Ally jumping ship as well. He sounded well pissed off!
1. Give your time estimates for what you deem to be the likeliest scenarios. 2. This is not directed solely at you, but everyone (when should I expect to see whether the new regime is sh*te or not, and why) .
VINAI VENKATESHAM for short!!!! Full name: VINAICHANDRA GUDUGUNTLA VENKATESHAM When do we start protesting. When we can spell his name without checking?
Chelsea and City are just openly a joke and clearly cheating, but I wouldn't say this is cause for celebration. It is precisely this statistic that has fuelled so much frustration against Daniel. Profit Before Glory rings true.
Man Utd's losses are the big story Anyone know if the Glazer children have bought yachts lately? Asking for a friend...
