Who could have thought a project focused more on kicking out any left-leaning members than creating viable policies would have trouble controlling the narrative...?

The fact this is the second annual "Angela Rayner bought a house!!!" manufactured controversy definitely isn't tedious, either...

The US press asked Farage one question about Epstein and he practically had a stroke in full view of the media

Hmm, interesting...so if the press challenge him just once, he rapidly gets exposed as a grifting charlatan? So why hasn't our press tried that in the last fifteen ****ing years?

So, the media attack dogs have got their prey and driven Rayner out of office. But not, it seems, without significant assistance from Starmer & his 'independent advisor'.
The punishment doesn't fit the crime imho, but a PM scared of his own shadow, let alone an actual Opposition, was always unlikely to show loyalty.

The only good thing about the timing if the announcement is that it will carry the news agenda for the day and take any spotlight away from the frog-faced ****s Party speech.

Hopefully this sham of a Labour party is on it's way along with the Tories. Raynor as one of the few prominent Lefties in place is probably better off out of it in the long term.

Problem is she was always going to compromised due to her bending the knee to Starmer

That did a lot to damage her credentials for left-leaning Labour voters, and all too often falling in line with what the Keir Leader wanted means by association she's damaged in the eyes of centre-left Labour voters too

Which, of course, was never the plan...

The problem with Raynor is that when you are a self proclaimed socialist, buying properties at £800K and acquiring significant wealth as a consequence of your political standing is not a good look at all, even before you throw in her failure to pay the tax due.
She gave the right wing media all the ammunition they needed, gift-wrapped.
This is the kind of story the Daily Mail would have loved to have made up, but didn’t need to.

I agree that for once, the Mail didn't have to create the story, but I think the other criticism is a tad unfair.
She bought 'a' house (which at £800k is hardly mansion territory these days) and she cannot help being in a significant position that pays well.
The tax issue would not even raise an eyebrow in any other walk of life, particularly with the complicated family arrangements factored in.

Could she have handled it better? Probably, but I still think she has been hung out to dry and let the vultures pick at the corpse.

I agree up to a point - because the press reaction was always going to be overboard - but she is the author of her own misfortune to some extent.
Anyway, they can turn their attention to Tottenham MP Lammy now. Another easy target if he messes up

Interesting that the new Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood took part in a demonstration for Palestininian Rights in 2014 and is a member of Labour Friends Of Palestine and the Middle East. How will she behave when it comes to the proscribed group of demonstrators.
    Are Labour about to backtrack?

    No chance!
None of them has any strength of belief and she will no doubt fold to her Glorious Leaders will ... Give it 24 hours and she'll be sharing cocktails with the Israeli Ambassador.
