So SAFC aren’t a charity? You surprise me. I thought being a working man’s club they should be looking after the players. Socialism 101
Don’t think so. Convention is that they finalise it after the window closes. Copley did an article on it today. I think it was mostly wrong, so I’ll be interested to see what we actually put forward.
They can’t go anywhere if nobody wants to take them. Matete, Pembele and Ba all took loans last year, at appropriate levels. Would you quit your job, with nothing lined up, and a real possibility you’d have to change your industry to continue receiving a salary? I wouldn’t. They can’t walk away and assume they will get sorted, likewise they can’t really be vilified if they are currently in best contracts they ever likely to receive and want to see that through. I’d be happy for the club to support them for moves by either partial payoffs or salary contributions. We can’t do that if nobody wants them. Roberts and Browne are proven players.

Sunderland’s transfer team believe Seelt’s eventual move to Wolfsburg was dictated by circumstances rather than broken promises, with the player and his representatives ultimately deciding to test themselves in the Bundesliga. Sources also indicate that the Black Cats kept an open dialogue with NEC throughout the process, but the decision ultimately rested with the player’s camp. https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...-sunderland-jenson-seelt-nec-nijmegen-5300770
Dont need to include Rigg, Mayenda or Talbi in the 25 man squad as they're under 21, we'd be pushing the 17 non-homegrown players rule otherwise.
