Nice. On the retirement not the travelling. Used to feel a bit of a treat but now you fly at **** o’clock, sit in some meetings, have a reasonably nice dinner when you’d rather be at home and **** off again. I’ll normally take a day of holiday and explore a bit but still ****e.

The novelty of business travel wore off years ago. Booked a late afternoon flight, so I get to the hotel, dinner and bed. Couldn’t get a late flight on Thursday, so home Friday and the joys of the M25 Friday afternoon!
Before Covid I could fly to Italy and back in a day, which I did many times. Long day but at least I was in my own bed!

Call it Benoit Assou-Ekotto Systems. They’ll love that sort of banter.

Well, he doesn't like this sleep malarkey <laugh> and he's extra offended when one of us tries to get some shut eye

But it's an amazing experience, pretty much every single cliche is spot on

Excited to watch him grow up

Here's another truth ... when you take him for his first day at Primary School he'll be telling everyone that:

"My Dad (Daddy) is the cleverest man in the whole world"

By the time he finishes secondary school:

"My dad is a complete idiot and knows 'nothing' ..."

    :)

I remember walking around the house with my young un in my arms trying to get him to sleep at 4am…now we play footy, kick **** out of each other, eat kebabs together and call each other gay n **** like that etc etc

i gave up full time work to watch my boy grow up and do the little things with him

get him ready for school…pick him up

A conscious decision, didn’t fancy the world bringing him up and always thought of if I don’t spend time with my children, someone else will, usually society and can’t risk it being the bad **** of society

Had plenty money hurdles to overcome in life as a result but I feel free within and I know there will be coming a day when I look back and think that was the best way to live life and that was to maximise my time with my children.

    Happy for you FamZ

My eldest suffered a bit from colic in the first few months... found a solution - put her in her car seat and drove her around Aylesbury, where we were living at the time ... rhythm of the car sent her to sleep ... tip-toeing back in without banging the seat on the door frame or whilst going up the stairs was fun ...

Crazy place that. Nazare in Portugal.

The swell comes out of a deep water ocean trench and then jacks up on a shallow seabed, which creates those monstrous waves.

Would love to go and watch, but there's no way I'd try and take on anything like that. Big wave surfing is a different gravy.
