On a positive note, I reckon there is a player in Fally, we now have to work on him and play him in a way that uses his ability and build up his confidence
That's City done Bristol Live understands that with the deadline now passed, Bristol City are done and dusted for the summer. No more incomings are expected in BS3 with just Sam Bell's loan move to Wycombe expected to be confirmed this evening. The Robins end the summer with three permanent additions: Adam Randell, Joe Lumley and Emil Riis and two loan signings: Radek Vitek and Neto Borges. City couldn't quite find that one extra attacker Gerhard Struber was looking for... but didn't lose any of their biggest names.
It's done and dusted and so we move on to the rest of the season and see where Gerhard takes us, without losing some of our better players. I would have been upset if both Ross and Zak were to leave as I believe they are vital to our ongoing success. Keep the unbeaten record in tact for the rest of the camapaign and we could be in with a shot.
Wycombe Wanderers @wwfcofficial Finishing our summer window in style Sam Bell signs a season-long loan deal from Bristol City!
Vitek joining was almost by default. Not signing a striker tells me everything about our ambition. Because RR is correct, short sighted doesn't come close, an injury or suspension to Riis will see us drop like a stone.
I imagine we were hampered by not being able to move some of our donkeys to pastures new which saw a lack of another striker coming in. But as you say RP it's the usual lack of ambition, and the 'make do and mend' attitude we've all come to expect over many seasons.
No, only out of contract players can be signed now until January. We could sell a player to another country who are still in transfer window. So here’s hoping a Turkish or Greek club fancy Armstrong as theirs shut September 12th. Must be a desperate club wanting a three goal a season player.
Armstrong should drop a league or two. He’s proved he’s not up to Championship standard but he might do a job in L1.
This says all you need to know about Bristol City's strikers -nobody wants them- somebody needs firing A lot of clubs desperate for strikers, and City have 4 of them gifted wrapped and ready for immediate delivery. It says a lot about what other clubs think of them
So much despondency, we are only 4 games in, 6th in the table,9 goals for, 2nd highest total, 4 players in team of the week, one of only 4 teams undefeated in our table, not a bad start, sad we didn't sign a striker, thats life, let us wait till 10 before judgements are made, personally I'm over the moon how our team and managenent have started the season.
