Some of those assists you mention were comic, wayward shots mostly, the superb pass at Wembley will be remembered as will the many truly abject performances. I wish him well truly, but so pleased to see him go. Still a few more hopefully will follow but its a stem in the right direction imo.
I think on paper we have a real chance now. I genuinely think that. There’s a few teams weaker than we thought.
All I wanted was a chance, this summer has been beyond my wildest expectations. Everyone at the club deserves credit for this
The palace thing shows how hard it is have an elite coach who has brought them a generational side, a trophy and European football and still losing players has he put it, ‘it’s up to the owners to say which direction the clubs goes now’ if the guehi deal goes through and they lose the manager they’re back to being a bottom half prem side
The lass on sky sports literally just said the big move of the summer Alexander Isak to Newcastle from Liverpool. I mean anyone can have a slip of the tongue but ffs that's a pretty big cock up
One hell of a transfer window. Given ourselves a chance. We've done so much good work but I still fear not enough. I don't think we create enough chances and I think that will come to roost. But we've given ourselves MUCH more of a chance than I thought we would.
Oh aye for sure mate, under no illusions here. Like I say though we’ve got a real chance now and if a couple overperform we might even do a bit better. If we did 14th or higher that’s gonna be something for recruitment next year.
The timing of all this is perfect in my opinion and I don't normally like these International Breaks. It'll give the club and coaching staff the opportunity to discuss the way forward with the squad we now know we have. It'll give the new players the opportunity to get used to the club before any pressure is put on them, apart from media stuff. It'll give any knocks the chance to clear up and the likes of Ballard, O'Nien, etc, to recover. It'll also give everyone the chance to absorb what's happened, practice pronouncing the player's names and concentrate on the football ... ... hopefully we'll also be able to have a break from mentioning AFCON every 15 minutes
Aye for sure. Let’s see who’s done what today and then have a real look at who we can beat over 38 games.
Correct me if I'm wrong, we haven't signed an "up and comer" from the leagues below have we? Players need to be good enough to play Premier league straight away.... I like that. As for the loan arrangers Chelsea, tin pot calling a loan back so soon.
Anyway that’s another window and a season to look forward to thoroughly enjoyed the thread, the commentary, debates, fallout and company. Been a pleasure.
We’ve done enough to Jan IMO. And saved the ability to go and spend some more then by not over extending now. I do agree creatively we are a little light, but it’s easy to forget we have Mundle to come back, Brobbey also opens up Mayenda and Isidor wide much more than Guiu did
