Of course, but Spors has brought in players in position's of need, and upgrades on what we currently have.

Did we ? Was that the one where we were left with one DM after letting Romeu go and failed to get the major striker we were after despite being linked to Delap, Ramos and Gakpo? For those two points alone it wasn’t fantastic

that one was more about getting caught up with bringing in several players on deadline day. I think it was 4

For me this feels like the best example we have seen for years of recruiting enough players, across a variety of positions, and ones that are consistent with a way of playing. So often in the past we have seen incoming players who might have been objectively viewed as good but who we could not see fitting into our style of playing (or at least how the manager wanted to play)

Just in time for a song to be made about pompey.

    Scienza whoa whoa
    Scienza Whoa Whoa
    He came from Germany
    He ****ing hates Pompey
    And Repeat.

As we’re not great at making new songs this would suffice :emoticon-0102-bigsm

or when he scores against Pompey a week Sunday could change the 4th line to, he scored against Pompey.

I think we've photoshopped Blackpool tower onto the banks of the Thames and told Leo **** Paris, London is better.

Yep. There are still areas I'm concerned about and you can't be certain any transfer will be a success but we've signed a good mix of experience and promise, moved on a lot of dead wood, are hopefully going to shift some more today and some of the players who may stay (Aribo and Smallbone for example) are out of contract next summer anyway.

The situation in midfield is a very interesting example of how much we've improved. Last time we were in the Championship we were very dependent on Flynn Downes being available. It's now possible he won't get into our best eleven.

This was the breakdown on him that I received from AM. He’s had an interesting journey.

Development History: From Brazil to Bundesliga

    • Origins: Born in Venâncio Aires, Brazil in 1998, Scienza began his youth career with Avenida, Chapecoense, and Lajeadense before a stint at Defensor Sporting in Uruguay.
    • Early Senior Career:• Lajeadense (2018): Brief appearances in Brazil’s state leagues.
    • Fanna BK (2019–2020): A breakout in Sweden’s fifth tier with 12 goals in 21 games—his first taste of European football.

    • Rise in Germany:
    • Schalke 04 II (2020–2022): 59 appearances, 15 goals in Regionalliga West. Developed as a versatile attacker with a knack for late runs and link-up play.
    • 1. FC Magdeburg (2022–2023): Limited impact in 2. Bundesliga, but dominated in the reserve side with 13 goals in 10 matches.
    • SSV Ulm (2023–2024): A breakout season in 3. Liga with 12 goals in 34 games.
    • 1. FC Heidenheim (2024–present): Scored 6 goals and added 8 assists across all competitions, including a dramatic stoppage-time winner in the Bundesliga relegation playoff A B.

    ---

    Playing Style: Dual-footed Dynamo

    • Position: Primarily a left winger, but comfortable on the right and as an attacking midfielder.
    • Footedness: Ambidextrous—scored a third of his goals last season with his weaker left foot C.
    • Strengths:• Ball Carrying: Agile dribbler with deceptive acceleration and balance.
    • Creativity: Excellent in tight spaces, often initiates overloads and quick one-twos.
    • Press Resistance: Uses body feints and quick turns to escape pressure.
    • Defensive Work Rate: High pressing intensity, tracks back diligently.
    • Mentality: Clutch performer—thrives in high-stakes moments, as seen in his playoff heroics A.

    ---

    Tactical Fit: Will Still’s Southampton

Will Still’s Southampton are working towards high energy, positional fluidity, and aggressive pressing D. Scienza fits this mold beautifully:

    • Pressing Triggers: His sprint stats and pressing success rate in the Bundesliga suggest he’d thrive in Still’s counter-pressing system A.
    • Wide Rotation: With Tyler Dibling and Samuel Edozie likely departing B C, Scienza offers a flexible option who can invert or stretch play depending on the phase.
    • Transitional Threat: His ability to carry the ball and play incisive passes makes him ideal for Southampton’s fast-break sequences.
    • Squad Chemistry: Known for his team-first attitude and adaptability—he’d slot into Still’s competitive, joy-driven training culture with ease D.

    ---

️ Latest Match: DFB-Pokal vs Bahlinger SC (16 August 2025)

    • Result: Heidenheim won 5–0 away.
    • Scienza’s Impact:• Played 81 minutes as an attacking midfielder.
    • Scored 2 goals from 3 shots on target.
    • Completed 43 touches and won 9 out of 12 duels—the highest in his team A.
    • Registered 1 assist, showing off his dual threat as both finisher and creator A.

    ---

    Season Stats So Far (2025–26)

    • Appearances: 2 matches (Bundesliga + DFB-Pokal).
    • Goals: 3 total.
    • Assists: 1.
    • Fouls Drawn: 64 times last season—4th most in the Bundesliga, showing how often defenders struggle to contain him A.
    • Sprint Workload: Covered 5.3 km with 14 sprints in a single match—ideal for high-intensity systems A.

You are underselling the Flynn Downes point. We were dreadful in Martin’s system when he didn’t play. He was basically vital which is why we had to sign him when we went up and pretty much everyone was happy to do so

Aribo might be here at the end of today but go to turkey in a week or so as they seem to pay big wages but not fees

His most successful military engagement was known as the Battle of the Spurs. So we know he hated Tottenham.
