Henry was like Tottenham. Spent a fortune but no silverware.

A victory which cost half the English army and bankrupted the country. Boulogne was recaptured 3 years later.

Agincourt would have been a better analogy!

It's certainly the most famous and celebrated victory over the French.

Yeah, Henry V would be the Henry to go for. Edward III might be even better though. He (well, his son the Black Prince) captured the French King at the Battle of Poitiers.

The Southampton Plot is in Shakespeare's Henry V and the trial of the conspiritors that planned to kill the King were apparently tried at The Red Lion pub in the High Street and executed in front of the Bargate.
    That's your Southampton link.

Be somewhat annoying if Edozie prevaricating means we miss out. I fear we get blown out of the water by Paris though, even if they're not the PSG version.

Yeah, Edozie clearly sees his future elsewhere so if we miss out and he ends up staying and sulks he can go **** himself.

Interesting that he doesn’t seem to be eligible to play for any country. He’s of Lxembourgian descent, with a bit of Brazilian in the mix, but can’t play for Luxembourg as he hasn’t lived there for more than 3 years.

Agreed. I think this might be the best transfer window (at least for incoming) for quite a few seasons. I am seeing a lot more depth of quality in the squad and at ages that mean they can make an instant impact. Mr Spors has been outstanding.

It'll be a promising window for sure, but ultimately, proof will be in the pudding; remember the window of summer 2022, where we all thought it was a fantastic window, best one ever etc ... and we got relegated?

Ultimately, whether its a good window or not will only unfurl in the months ahead.
