Hmmmm I'm going to disagree unless the Isak money is spent amazingly well over the next day or two. Next summer I expect we'll see Tonali Livramento and Guimareas possibly looking to move... There's going to be a big change sooner or later, but this season we've not done anything majorly significant...we've improved a bit of depth, that's all.
Barnes is presumably available to buy. If we could dump him and get real quality like Lopez I’d be delighted. Unlikely.
I've got about as much chance of turning water into wine as we have of Newcastle buying Lopez and the lad at inter over the next 2 days. It is clear guys.. Wissa and larsen are the only two genuine possible targets this summer. There will be nothing else even remotely exciting after Woltemade unfortunately... He is exciting, but totally unproven, which is why it was a surprise... I've got greedy.
Since we got Nick W in, Im actually relaxed now and looking forward to the last two days of the transfer window. Want to see if there is twist in the Isak saga and I still feel there is going to be a surprising addition for a striker........ i.e not Larsen or Wissa
I'd gutted that I didn't book tomorrow off work. I can see I might be glued to my phone all day - just in case.
Im on gardening leave till I start my new job on the 22nd Sept, timing has been perfect for the window and the weather!
Looking at Elanga's career? I assume you'd done that at the point where we were signing him and you were getting excited about it. Assumed you are only thinking about 3 games? No I've stated we've only seen them in action, if at all, for 3 games. That's just a fact. Your points? They were: 1. We're no better an 11. 2. Howe says we'll only sign players better than what we already have, we've spent £200m (this summer) but no improvement seen anywhere on the pitch. 3. Where has the money gone. All points succinctly answered by - it's too early to judge any signings, so don't waste the time or energy until we've had them long enough to tell. How will we know if they improve the first 11, the squad or on pitch performances over a sustained period after watching on for... 3 games. Anyway, Elanga could turn out to be much better than Murphy once fully settled in. Ditto Thiaw with Schar. Ditto Ramsdale with Pope. Even Ramsey may turn out better than Joelinton for all we know at this point, though that does seem less likely. He fulfills point 2 though, in that he's highly likely to turn out to be better than Longstaff. Woltemade could turn out to be better than Isak for all we know, and should comfortably fulfill point 2 by being better than later Wilson. Point 3 - that's where the money has gone.
I mean, this was just as premature a statement, having not waited to see how the players would do. Just under a month ago too - opinions can change fast sometimes, huh?...
Elanga was good ode a season at forest playing counter attacking football. From what were seeing now it ties in with his time at Man United more so than he's improved in other areas, which was my hope. I raised 5 points mate surrounding the side in general I never said the squad isn't improved I said where's the money gone in terms of the 11... For a huge amount of money has that even improved? I'm not sure it has at this point... Isak not playing kills the Elanga improvement and we're still seeing Schar and Burn. What you're saying about woldemade is possible, but it's hypothetical... I'm taking about what we're actually seeing...
Here are the 5 points I was making to you mate. I stand by these issues. The Elanga situation is just another concern and at no point have I written him off tbf.
So at this moment in time we have Isak, Wissa, Larsen and now Jackson on strike and the PFA have not said a single word about their members basically discarding their contract terms of employment. Absolute disgrace all this and their silence is deafening
