I've never known fans think that 5 points from 4 games is acceptable whatever point of the season to be honest. I can't believe people are so blasé going in to the next game. If we lose that are people still going to make excuses?
Hard to tell from where I was but their first seemed eerily similar to Stoke's second last week just on the other side.
I will be extra blasé to wind you up! Personally, I like direction we are going and have enjoyed watching us this season. Been a while since we weren’t boring. So I will give it ten games.
It's not excuses, it's just realism. We don't know what our squad looks like yet, and until Tuesday we're not going to. That's realistically when the season starts 'properly'. There's 42 games to go. If we lose the next game, that would be annoying, and people will of course overreact because it's Pompey. But we might. And in a world that isn't dominated by people being a bit silly, it probably won't matter in the grand scheme of things, unless you speak to people from Portsmouth. Which is a weird thing to do at the best of times.
He does seem very vulnerable flat the low, hard, across goal finish, doesn’t he? Both this and last week should have been close to his body.
Early season with the squad turnover we've had we're obviously not going to be at our best and so I'm not reading too much into it at all. I have concerns about our defensive record but ultimately expect us to improve considerably. That said... 5th game or not, I absolutely would not accept us losing to skates at home. That result is unthinkable to me tbh. It's one of our biggest two games of the season as it stands and given we're at home and have at least 3 times the budget then it's absolutely a must win. Especially as away wins are rare in this fixture. No side has won a league derby away in about 35 years.
It's not making excuses, it's called be reasonable. We got relegated with the second lowest points tally in the PL and now we have a new manager, new players, and a new system. It takes time, as Ipswich are also finding out.
You’re entitled to your opinion, but you’re not entitled to have a go at people who think differently from you.
Didn't pay to much attention to the game (hopefully not a sign of apathy so early in the season). On the face of it a point away is okay. Shame we did not capitalise on the momentum from the first day win. Very early days and a lot can change, but we need to get better at both ends to be pushing for top two. It feels more like a play off chance this year
Thornhill again ole ole. My head says similar tbh, I think we're quite close to clicking and am hoping beyond belief that this is the game. Mentally my nerves are shot to ****ing bits already, and that would be true even if we were on 12 points. These matches just impact me in a way no other can - what makes them special I guess. Absolutely hate the build up and wish it was tomorrow. This is going to be the longest two weeks ever.
I hardly think Lincoln post is really "having a go" at some of the more positive posters on this forum. Yeah his posts are mostly miserable and anti SR but in fairness everybody has an opinion and he gets a lot of stick himself. Just Saying
In other news, second game in a row I’ve watched with commentary provided by Adam and Jo Tessem. Tessem strikes me as the Norwegian Merson…
Looked like there was a bit of handbags at full time in the dugouts. Looks like their manager said something that pissed Still off.
