    Me too...a Saito shirt.

    On way home...relieved.

    Wasn't sure of the team

    We started really well.
Norrington-Davies was far better than we were led to believe. Solid, good brain fitted right in. Played some real neat and positive football. Not so much flapping about at the back..a bit more kick ...with Kone we can try and do that.

The goal was neat, Kone let the ball pass for Smyth to slot in ( but keeper should have saved it) A bit later on Smyth tried to lob the keeper after a good run..but failed.
Charlton came more into it..but with last kick of the half we hit the post.

Didn't start the 2nd half to bad ...but flapping about from a cross allowed Charlton back in...Walsh was caught out at the wrong post.

Charlton were getting a head of steam before Saito came on...he immediately made an impression running at their defence.. well deserved goal and the roof came off the stadium.

After that Charlton pushed...giving is room for Burrell to play in Kone....who is a real CF ..and put it in.

We have some really good players...Saito, Varane, Kone, Burrell, Dembele, Mbengue.

( I would add Hayden..who only had a few minutes but we know he is very solid and does the quiet work)

I rate Morrison..a solid player. Vale did so much covering in first half...another good. player but without any pace.

Esquerdinha I am not sure about. Madsen had an OK game today..as did Dunne.

    But Walsh worries me

I was thinking the same, there was a moment in the first half that I saw him prowling around the half way line in a Ferdinandesk fashion.

Slightly against the grain judging by my WhatsApp group but thought he did ok. Claimed a few high balls second half when they were pumping them in and I get why he thinks someone is going to get a touch on the goal and when they don’t he looks silly. Think various defenders could’ve played a role in avoiding it.

Proper rollercoaster game. Really flat at the start, better first half and nice team goal but we failed to capitalise and no one believed we were going to win one nil. Their goal was comic but Walsh was in the wrong place and should have saved it. After that you could see the doubts about him start to spread. Luckily Charlton were terrible in front of goal and Saito changed the game. Got to credit the manager with the substitutions today. What’s he got against Nardi though? Some French Boef?

A very Anne Robinson round-up of the performance.

Having calmed down a bit that was about the result rather than the performance. The celebrations from the players at the end showed they knew how important it was to win after last week.

And at last we have a couple of strikers that mean the opposition defence can never relax. Kone playing the full 96 minutes must be a first for a QPR CF in recent years. Saito playing at 10 made a huge difference. Vale worked his socks off but his lack of pace is a real handicap.

There was far less attempt to control the game through possession, and the result was a bit of chaos which might suit us. The late goals covered up a lot of crap but I think we just about deserved it.

Walsh will be discussed endlessly, but it seems he’s here to stay. Hopefully his nerves will improve. He missed numerous chances to distribute the ball quickly. He claimed a few crosses but has a terrifying habit of getting both hands on the ball but flapping it down and catching the bounce which is a disaster waiting to happen.

    Mbengue is the BOSS.

And Madsen….I made a point of keeping a close eye on him for 5 minutes or so in both halves. Some neat passes, yes. His (two?) fouls were the result of poor timing rather than trying to get stuck in. At defensive set pieces he hides, doesn’t mark anyone and usually end up behind another of our players. His delivery from set pieces is ok, and his free kick on goal was decent. But he just doesn’t have the energy or courage for this league, floating around and the occasional pass don’t cut it.

Still, a little bounce in my step this afternoon…

A lovely moment for NL to have the ideal view for knowing Saito’s shot was rolling inside the post.

Trying to work that one out Flanman??
Rude..not really ( except about Walsh).

So I will have to go with what AI said when I asked it about Anne Robinson

"An intelligent and witty older lady, with a sharp wit and stylish clothes"

The stylish clothes bit is wrong and I am sure it's not what you meant either () .but I will take it

Just heard Stephan’s post match comments. Very balanced, no shying away from the disaster last week, emphasis on fight and mentality, interestingly he said that ‘Cookie and Sam’ had strong words for the team before the kick off, contributing even though they didn’t play.

I thought it was a shame he didn’t come out to give the crowd a little wave in the corner after what I would like to think has been a dreadful few weeks. Not his style which is fair enough.

He did from a distance didn't he? Perhaps he just wanted to give the players their moment

Maybe. My eyes are increasingly dreadful. Didn’t spot him in the corner behind all the players twerking.

Yep. Good management, not like Charlton's **** trainer who would have been running around the pitch claiming all the glory if Chalton had won.

Perhaps he said something rude about JS' mother? In which case Nardi's lucky it wasn't Madame Zidane.

I'm still very much not convinced about our new head coach. We made a good start to the game and were well on top when there was a lengthy injury stoppage after 25 minutes or so. Both sets of players came to the bench to get fresh instructions. After that, Charlton's pressing game went into overdrive and they dominated much of the rest of the game with it. Rangers, on the other hand were tentative and over-cautious after the restart. It says a lot IMO.

A game where we started well and finished well and the in-between wasn't that great.
We actually finished without a formation, more of a just go for it approach.
Saito was man of the match for me. A very technical player capable in tight situations. Dunne looked knackered in the warm up. Our Brazilian left back can strike a ball. Think he will be some player in a couple of seasons. Lots and lots to work on still. Kone, I thought was really effective. Vale, at long last is a midfielder who wants to progress forwards, it didn't quite come off for him today but his ideas were all positive. 3 PTS

He did come over near the R block but stopped 20 yards short and went in leaving it to the exhuberant Mbengue and Kone to go over the top with the celebrations. It was delightful to see the team bonding before our eyes. Would have been daft to see the manger go full on Klopp for beating Charlton (Athletic not Heston Rodney)
