It’s a shame but I like a few pints after golf as well so still had a bit exercise done. Over the moon I got the watch as well it’s giving me a better target for improving on times and what have you. I’ll be away from doggy paddle in no time at all.
@Pure River Slut just seen ya post about swimming in a lake mate. Just a reminder to myself to ask you something when I sober up on Monday.
Couldn't kip due to the heat last night. Hopefully that's the last of the hot summer nights. On way to the gym, will probably crash later. How's everyone getting on ? Down to 15.0 now. The 14's are in sight! Think that's where I'll stop though. Not sure if would want to drop any more TBH.
When I started doing triathlons I was obsessed with weight. The more I did them though I came to the conclusion that weight was secondary. It’s more about body shape and composition. I’d rather have a decent looking body than worry about what my archaic BMI says. Because I do a lot of aerobic fitness I look lean but if I decided to concentrate more on weights my body shape and weight would change but I’d still be fit (well I am fit and all the lasses fancy me like )
Right knee been stiff and tight for three weeks now thought it was the TI band so started more stretching but I can’t stretch my right quad now as the knee is that stiff it feels that if I try too hard something in my knee will snap. Just come off a weeks holiday of doing nothing and no further forward with the knee. I was down to 14.7 but not sure now.
Doesn't sound great that fella. Worth seeing a physio for if it's 3 weeks and no improvement. Could be a few things. If you have pushed the IT band I would stop that now, a it could increase the issue. Might be down to patella tracking or could be your meniscus playing up. Worth an exploration. Hot, close flush and anti inflammatory if you need to wait for an appointment.
Was on a golf trip away in Cheshire. 3 games and 2 swims on top of the 3 I’d already done so 5 in total. A new world record for me. Also proved I can do it with a hangover so no excuses moving on. Weight hasn’t moved much for to my love of Guinness and none healthy snacks but I feel more fit and strong since changing to front crawl about 2 month ago.
Got my first mile done this morning. Done the standard 1000m then 1250 then still feeling good we done the rest to make it up. It must’ve been the pre swim orange I had.
On the ferry over from shields to shields. First day biking to the match. Only a cyclist knows how strong the wind blows.
General rule of thumb as an experienced cyclist. If you’re riding along and you think it’s easy you’re either going too slow or you have a tailwind. For all other possibilities, you’re riding into a headwind.
Ah yes, you say that now. But here’s the other rule. It doesn’t matter which direction you ride in as the headwind always follows you.
Trying to make sure I get more protein into the day to day diet, currently use Diet Whey from PHD as a meal replacement for lunch at work. Any thoughts on how to get more in the day to day meals and alternatives to the Whey. Do any of you take any supplements regularly. Mid 50's bloke trying to look after myself. Cheers
I tend to get the bulk of my protein from food but some days I chuck a scoop in with whatever breakfast I’m having, porridge/overnight oats etc.
I’m no expert at all mate and don’t do weight training now(although I should as an oldish fella) but I used to put protein on my cereal on a morning years ago when I was into it properly. I also took something called Minamino tablets which helped to repair muscle and aid recovery. I know now it was amino acid but this was vile tasting back then and the syrup version was puke inducing but it kept energy levels up. One of the more clued up lads will explain the whys and when but back then it worked for me. I’m pissed so excuse the waffle, Guinness, red wine and no supplements.
