Err,No i not im comparing Suarez giving the finger and getting done for it when other players have done the same thing and not been charged. The only time i mentioned the Suarez racism allegation was when the Spurs poster said what Harry says in an off TV press conference(ie; ****)is acceptable,i asked him if it would've been ok had Suarez made the alleged racist remark in an off TV press conference.
Clearly not, as racism's never acceptable. Swearing in a non-televised situation, when everybody present is an adult really isn't an issue. Rooney wasn't charged because he was clearly pointing to his own eyes. Cole's charge was dropped over a technicality. Can't say that I remember the Beckham one, but you appear to have missed another by an England international. please log in to view this image
You make excuses for Rooney etc and then post a pic of Gerrard questioning the ref if the player he was booking was recieving his second yellow. Its easy to manipulate a pic to prove your point. Liverpool hater...much!
That was my whole point. You posted at least one picture where the player definitely didn't do what you're claiming he did. You've not attempted to find out what happened with the other incidents either, yet you're claiming that you're being victimised. Suarez appears to have made an offensive gesture to the Fulham fans after the game. I've heard nobody claim otherwise. Why defend him, if it's true? It's clearly not acceptable behaviour, is it?
Ah come on lad, you've made excuses for other players making gestures to the crowd/on live TV yet you want Suarez punished. Double standards?
What excuses have I made and for which players? Rooney clearly didn't make a crowd gesture. He should've been booked for telling the linesman to use his eyes. He virtually pokes himself in the eye. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag.../3570225/Did-Rooney-give-fans-the-V-sign.html Sorry about the link, but I couldn't find it elsewhere.
Ok so will accept Rooney was making a different offensive gesture, and put this to one side at the moment. Ashley Cole however was reported in a similar way to Suarez with no ban: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/2328795/Ashley-Cole-faces-wait-over-V-sign-fall-out.html Gary Neville: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jan/20/gary-neville-finger-alex-ferguson-roberto-mancini No debate over the motives of these guys, no charge. Beckham's may have been ages ago but it still sets a precedent, and unless the FA come out and say they ar changing their approach then similar cases should be treated similarly, yet Suarez is charged. I know there's the whole 'every fan thinks everyone is against them' phenomenon, but given the examples in this thread i don't see how people can not think we have a case there. (oh and despite your apology don't post links to that website, they will not get read and we don't want them here.
Neville made the gesture to another player, not to a set of fans, so it's not directly comparable. Cole got off on a technicality. Other players have been charged since the Beckham incident, so another precedent has been set. Carr, Barton and Adebayor, for example.
gestures are not the point fo the original article so............ you guys continue that debate i'll just comment on redknapp.... ferguson got badded for saying exactly what redknapp said... atkinson was asued for bias, foy was assused of bias... redknapp just got a warning? either way it it not that improtant who gets what as it hardly benefits us at anfield, the point is consistentcy is non existant and this generates the perception of unfairness.
Which Ferguson charge are you talking about? I believe the last one was for discussing the referee before the game. Where was Foy accused of bias? Redknapp suggested that the ref would watch the footage back and realise he'd made mistakes.
'arry said "To be honest, from the start of the game I felt like he wasn't going to give us much. I just felt like he was quite enjoying not giving us anything." In anyone elses world that translates as he was being biased against us
Morning PNP and 'Pool fans 'Arry also said "I just felt like he was quite enjoying not giving us anything" which is where I believe he went too far. The FA had to and did take action against him, his previous good record and the fact that there were two of the most blatantly poor decisions you'll see went against us I think it would've been hard for the FA to issue anything more than a warning. Compare it to any of Fergie's vociferous tirades about refs and you'll see the difference.
Leaving aside the fact that he appears to have been right, he may have been referring to either the accusations that he's a homer (QPR v Chelsea) or Stoke's feeling from the same tie last season. They felt hard done by because of a goal-line decision going against them late on. The ref for that game? Chris Foy. Great decision to give him it again, eh?
Fair point, YV. Surely someone's previous record on such matters has to be taken into account when punishment is being decided? Can't argue with that.
Except this isn't the first time Redknapp has criticised a referee. "I never walk in after games and complain about a referee but this guy is scary. He's a poor referee and I've seen him make a mess of so many games. He's really not good enough." On Steve Tanner, December 2008 "I just question the referee's overall performance which I thought was inept. Every game I see this season has seven or eight bookings. I think it's frightening." On Andy D'Urso, February 2008 This tells me that his previous record with his outbursts about referees isn't as clean as some of you might think. If this was any other manager they would have been charged and faced a fine or potential touchline ban, but not for Sir Harry, Saviour of England F.C!
I actually agree with your sentiments here mate but if we are talking about black and white and what the FA themselves set up then I think their approach has been wrong. It's hard not to think that they've maybe taken into account not wanting to aggravate him in light of Levy's comments he's not interested in the England job, or indeed have maybe been caught up in this false idea that Redknapp never criticizes refs. I think many of our fans don't buy into the Redknapp love because of the fact that he comments on other peoples transfer deals (especially in the last year or so) and things like that, when our club and several others refuse to. Redknapp's 'Good' Record: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...Redknapp-is-no-stranger-to-referee-rants.html I respect how you guys are doing this year so this doesn't come from bitterness, i just happen to think that at the moment it is very clear that the FA and the media are being very friendly towards certain individuals and very harsh on others.
So because it happened 3 years ago it holds no relevance now...It's cool guys, World War II happened over 60 years ago, best we all forget and move on. Fact is, Harry Redknapp has had numerous blasts at the referee and each time he has gotten away with it.
