Gutted to read the terrible news that one of my guitar heroes, Dave Edmunds is critically ill after a cardiac arrest, apparently he died in his wife's arms before being revived and has suffered some serious brain damage...

That’s awful news. Always loved his work, going right back to Love Sculpture days.

    Get well soon Dave

Not sure if anyone remembers . A while ago I asked if anyone knew of a song that started with these words from the wizard of Oz .

quote "It's not a place you can get to by a boat or a train"

I think it was LTL that posted some info .

    well I found it .

    Summerlands - Beijing Spring .

    I have the CD :)

Has anyone here used Veeps for online streaming a concert?
    Wondering if it’s reliable/good.

This is one of those magical songs that I keep returning to again and again and it always gets me emotionally every time. The structure of it is so unusual with it's strange time signatures and lack of chorus but it works so well with the two guitars intertwining. This band deserves so much more recognition and are still influencing contemporary groups today...

The new album Soak from Brighton indie band, Black Honey is Grunge with hooks and has some infectious grooves, love it!

One composer I have been listening to recently has been Joseph Haydn. The piano sonatas are really good fun to listen to and play. I much prefer him to Beethoven who is too intense for. me and Mozart who I find too precocious. There is a charity about Haydn that I love plus there is a human and humorous side to his music that I enjoy. The piano trios are good too.

Whenever I listen to him I can never stop thinking about his meeting with Horatio Nelson which seems odd but genuinely happened. There was a bit of a mutual admiration society about the two.

I love it when I find a hidden treasure that I'd never heard before. This is a brilliant cover by one of my favourite bands of a great song by another favourite band, lovely stuff!...

This band, The Long Ryders, was part of the West Coast 60s revival movement of the 80s, they had fantastic energy but I can't believe that this is exactly 40 years old...:emoticon-0145-shake

I had this album, and like you, can’t believe it was 1985! Great band, and they sure could boogie:
