I think he’s tremendous. I hope he’s back in the England reckoning soon (find out in about an hour and a half I guess).
I've seen some Sunderland fans saying he's not ... ... presumably based on not yet having seen him play in the PL.
I seriously think this is the type of Player Rigg turns into, very technical and can pass through the lines, not overly quick like Rigg as well
Wharton I feel would be class at the base of the England midfield. They need to get the balance right.
Well you never know I suppose, and I'm not great a judge. But, as with Micky Bridges when he broke through as a sixteen year old, with Chris you just know. As far as you can be sure about any player, I'm sure about him . He's got the lot for a midfielder, plus he sees all around him like one of those swivel headed robots with five cameras in their head. Hardly any player, young or old does this and at the very top it's what makes the difference. IMO as a poor judge that is
Good post mate. I grew up in Consett in the late 50's and early 60's,and there were any amount who went to Roker one week and St James the other. It seemed like it was supporting North East football which was important, and the same people who had pride in seeing good football from one had the same pride in seeing the same from the other.Of course there was always rivalry when they played each other, but, growing up,I don't remember the sectarianism that seems to exist today.
Had a strange career this lad, not a bad one by any means but always just teetering on the edge of the elite level without ever quite getting there.
I went to Newcastle loads in the early sixties when the lads were playing away, never felt any affinity to them it was just a thing loads used to do.
EFL Analysis can exclusively reveal, via transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey, that we understand that Sunderland are interested in Stoke City goalkeeper Viktor Johansson. Despite Sunderland bringing in Dutch keeper Robin Roefs, who is now ahead of Anthony Patterson in their pecking order, Black Cats boss Regis Le Bris is keen to add another shot-stopper to his squad. Sunderland, who still want another central defender and centre-forward before Monday’s deadline, are now looking at Johansson, who has enjoyed a brilliant start to the season. https://eflanalysis.com/transfers/m...-premier-league-interest-in-viktor-johansson/
