There was plenty of talk about xg after the Leicester game because apparently we are should have won by something like 1.5 to 0.5. I go along with what the late great Jimmy Sirrel said, that the right team always wins, the rest is just noise.

    As long as nobody cheats.
Like Suarez or Maradona in the World Cup.

He had Peter Taylor. There can't have been a better judge of a player (apart from Old Reamsy).

Or Thierry Henry vs Ireland. Joe Jordan vs Wales. Paul Scholes vs Poland. Allowing for the odd ref blunder I still think it's a good general rule. Football is all about hitting the onion bag, simple.

    Henry <laugh> Shameful.

He took a dive on Black Sabbath as well, when we whipped them 2-4.

Diving is so commonplace nowadays that it barely counts.

If you dive then a card should be given out.

It is a yellow card offense but the ref has to be sure, and some players are very good at playing the ref. There’s a fine line between an outright dive and going down easily. If a player is fouled near goal and doesn't go down he probably won't get the penalty or free kick. It's a good reason for having ex players as refs.
