I'm very disappointed. If Jones wasn't interested in this he could have just said so. Even if that meant taking a fine for bringing the competition into disrepute (or whatever). I agree - he should have more respect for Charlton fans. And I was just beginning to move past my scepticism about him.
With the exception of our goal we’ve been dreadful. We are two divisions above them and we still bang it long constantly
Well that was a loaf of old **** - 3-1 flattered us. Special mentions to the following: Jones - what a ****e team he put out and what a ridiculous bench . Long ball merchant is ok when we play superior/equal teams but when playing two divisions below you???? Come on that’s not good enough Anderson - can’t trap a bag of cement. Example of which led to his first booking Mitchel - woeful . If he’s the best option other than Lloyd Jones for the dominant centre back position then get the cheque book out quick. Worst player on the pitch and he had serious competition Rankin-Costello - I wanted to jump on the pitch and take the corners instead of him because they were ridiculously bad Kelman - ffs. I assume a refund is not possible. QPR have their revenge for the Bonne deal knibbs - in getting the feeling he feels he’s better than he is. We also need a better song for him than the lame one we have at present
That was a waste of an opportunity to get one of the big guns in the next round and make some dough. I'm deeply annoyed with this. The first team should not need a rest after just three league matches. Just rubbish.
I know we’re out the cup but I’d rather that than risk first choice players being injured by lower league henchmen- priority is staying up this season and that’ll depend on keeping our best players fit
I just think a nice cup run would have been good for morale moving forward. Put out a strong side, score a few, get a win and move on to the league game this Saturday with spirits high. We will know this evening who we could have been playing in the next round. I hope Cambridge get a trip to Anfield or the Etihad.
My only frustration about last night will be if Cambridge get one of the big Prem teams, otherwise, as Smudger says, not risking the first 11 against a lower league team is the priority. That said, it doesn't sound like, Kelman, Tanto, Knibbs or JRC did much to help their own first team aspirations for this weekend.
