Unsurprising. Who would pay for ABK when he is in his final year and just hasn't played for so long. Loan to see if he can still play and if he can, pick him up on a free next season.

 

I doubt Verona would wait to pick him up for free if it goes well and risk being gazumped. I expect there's an option to buy clause they can activate in January if they wish for a few million.

 

Not sure he's got the mentality to turn his career around. Don't really care either tbh so long as he's not on our books. Any money that we get for him at this point is a bonus!

Ings passed his medical at Sheffield UTD.

 

Yeah that was my first thought when there was talk of a potential buy clause. Would make sense if there was an optional year extension. Whether the club want to do that and risk having him come back for another year is the question. It’s not like even if he has an incredible year the fee would be that much (as it sounds like it’s been agreed now).

Very good player but burnt his bridges here pretty quickly, interested to see how he gets on tbh

 

Palace are signing Pino, which other than being a really good signing for them, eats up some of their budget.

 

Mad to think that he’s been capped twice by the senior Germany team, but then only played 7 competitive games in the past 3 years. I hope our recruitment team does some sort of psychological profiling in future…

Very quiet on the incomings front so hopefully today is the day we a few sales go through for ABK, Aribo and Edozie, maybe further interest in Smallbone and BBD too. Then hopefully that opens the door for a few coming in.

 

Aribo is a weird one. Feels like he’s been “close” to leaving all summer but I don’t think I’ve seen one rumour in the media about who is interested
