Rumours are that Willock is going on loan to Palace. What happened to the Frattesi links - I assume it was all bollox?!
**** that skinny emaciated Eritrean ****. Make an example of him. Let him rot for 3 years then see who wants him when he hasn't played for 3 years.
That gives him what he wants. He wants to be sold and we're validating his behaviour by doing it. I'd love to sell him to get rid of the stench. But this one we now need to make an example.
And? So we lose a striker and £100+M for what? At least if we get rid the stain is removed and we can invest.
It means that any future player can pull the same stunt knowing that we will eventually cave in. If we do sell it needs to be on our terms - someone like PSG or Saudi. **** letting him go to them.
Oh my word. Yes, let's devalue our club by over £100m. You're letting emotions get involved over business. He's not worth it. I want players like Bruno, Joelinton, Gordon, Tonali, **** it even Schar, Burn etc. Players who want to play for the club and give their all. Isak never gave his all. To me it shows weakness. He clearly doesn't give a ****. I also think that younger stars maybe less attracted to coming if we don't sell. Sadly a lot of these players will still see us a stepping stone. We need to use this to our advantage not hinder it.
Money grabbing prick. Worst thing is the club actually thinks that he can be re-integrated. After last night that will never happen. Players above will not want him anywhere near them. The ironic thing is that he is not even that great. Penalty merchant who puts in two or three unplayable performances.
Pissing myself laughing. Get some players in, we are bidding £50m for a £23m striker and still we cant get anyone in. We are in a mess recruitment wise and everyone knows it
To be honest, I had a conversation with someone a couple of months before last season ended and told them I'd be happy if we sold Isak for £120m+ in the summer. My reasoning was that he gets injured to frequently and has cold spells too often, when he looks very average for runs of games. For us to be turning that much down would therefore be daft... I wasn't factoring in end of transfer window sales and uninspiring, overpriced replacements like Strand Larsen being rumoured, nor seemingly being effectively hobbled by a very frustrating PL player bias in our recruitment priorities.
Issue we face is that clubs know that we are desperate for a striker and that we likely have around £80 million to spend on one. So they will refuse to sell unless we significantly overpay. To not a get a replacement for Wilson given we knew he was out of contract and likely leaving still narks me.
Recruitment is a pisstake to be honest. We have lost 5 points so far because we didnt have a striker or Howe wouldn't use Osula. Come the end of the season when we invariably miss out on Europe, we'll look back on this with even more a critical eye.
Osula has to start up front on Saturday. Even if he does **** all. Barnes on the other hand - stick Murphy in.
Hang on a sec though. All good football clubs put new contracts in front of players 1-2 years into their current ones if they are absolutely on fire and they don't want to lose them. We shot ourselves in the foot by not doing that the season before last and if we were ****ing ran properly we should have absolutely done that. We're paying the price for that not having been done now. I'm not for one minute suggesting here that he is by any means in the right, he's behaving like a ****ing petulant child and he quite rightly should be punished for it. This could have so easily been avoided but as we are seeing (and have done for many transfer windows that have preceded this one) we are highly inept in key areas that are crucial to both the functioning and growth of a football club in general. Hopefully the new appointments coming in to replace Mitchell and Eales will bring with them an element of ****ing common sense and urgency to change some of this.
Clearly it sounds like someone gave him some kind of promise of a new contract [Staveley would be my guess] and either didn't tell anyone else [unlikely] or Eales was told and did **** all. Mitchell then comes along and being the twat that he is, refuses to offer one. The appointment of Eales and Mitchell was a complete disaster. I agree - the incomings will be a massive step towards competency.
As I said months ago and asked for my comment to be book marked. Between now and Xmas, PIF have either stepped up to the plate or we get more of the same old 'To be No 1' but no actions to back up the words. I still believe it will be the latter. We have the CL draw on Thursday and we dont even have a CEO or SD to attend it.
I suspect that they are very serious still. Apparently YAR and a delegation from PIF met Isak and his agent yesterday.
They can **** off with that. He's worth £40 million tops. Get Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart. Young, tall, physical, technical and a perfect fit. Also has an engine and the right type of personality. That's £60 million plus better spent.
