With Kone & Poku definitely. Some of the youngsters only time will tell but like the look of Pearman. How we utilise these new/returning players is a totally separate issue
I would love a new keeper and Ronnie Edwards and I would truly be happy. Greedy I know and I doubt Saints will let Edwards go.
Good signings today. My starting 11 now, considering everyone likely to be fit by next match: Kone Saito ---------------------------------------------------- Dembele (Poku when fit) Chair (A middle base two of any pairing from Field, Hayden or Varane) Norrington-Davies / Mbengue / Dunne / Adamson Nardi Subs: Esquerdinha; Burrell; Morrison; Vale; one of the Hayden/Varane/Field trio who is not starting; Walsh; Smyth; Morgan; Cook or maybe Tylon Smith because Cook looks knackered. I wish Salter was fit all season because he'd be just what we need with Dunne in the CB pairing I've just seen that Edwards started in their opening game but hasn't featured in the league since. Not sure it's from injury or that he was dropped since opener. Varane is the only player in the team behind the attackers who actually seems to be able to put the ball to a player's feet in the attacking third. It's one of my favourite things about him: his ability to thread a pass through the midfield. Him and Hayden would be a good pairing. I do believe Field will get back to good form before long.
On a diet of bratwurst and the local altbier (really moreish) he’ll score 20 in Düsseldorf this year.
Leicester haven’t got any money, so unlikely, but he needs to go in my view, too long promising and failing to deliver with us.
That's what the results are so annoying! If we'd bought only one or two low level players, we'd understand the poor showings. We must improve dramatically next weekend.
He's there in my lineup. You must have missed it. I think we can't afford to lose Chair this season. We just haven't got a decent replacement for him. If we get rid of him, it'll be Madsen all season. Chair always promises a lot but never delivers. I keep hoping the next manager will be able to coach him right. Just a few alterations to the way he plays and he could be really good for us. He needs to improve decision making. When and when not to shoot, when and when not to pass, etc.
So, with the early signings of Poku, Mbengue and Burrell, amongst others, there were pundits suggesting that we were dark horses for promotion. We've now added Kone, Saito, Hayden and Rhys Double-Barrel and Celar has gone out on loan. A seriously good transfer window. Stephan needs to step up and get them playing to the best of their ability.
