Great film. I’d recommend The Zone of Interest too. Chilling. It’s one of those films that really sticks with you for a long time afterwards.

And have a look at the Schlinder museum too while you’re in Krakow.

Each to their own, but didn't rate it. They let too many people in at once and, aside from his office, the exhibits are what you see at any Holocaust museum. :emoticon-0138-think

Tbh, I can’t remember. It was a few years ago and was there with Den (plus our better halves), so yet another blur in my memory. Do recall it added to the sombre experience, which everybody should go through once in their lifes.

I think the difference may have been that @TwoWrights said it was full of people.
From what I recall there was hardly anyone at all in apart from us when we went.
I thought Schindlers place was interesting, and of course Auschwitz and Birkenau were chilling but important to see.

It was heaving when we were there, but if you're on the long list... :bandit:

We went to Auschwitz and Birkenhaus in winter when it was snowing and freezing. You can't imagine how some people lived through it.

We went the day after the beast from the east eased, luckily our plane had been grounded at Leeds/Bradford so were able to go.

Disaster at Sea: The Piper Alpha Story
    9pm, BBC Two

In July 1988, 167 men died after a series of explosions tore apart the Piper Alpha oil platform off the coast of Aberdeen – it was the world’s deadliest offshore oil disaster. This three-part documentary details what happened and uses actors to deliver the testimonies given during the public inquiry. It also speaks to survivors and family members of victims as they still search for answers. The story starts with industrial decline and mass unemployment in 70s Britain

there was a bloke from hull in that, might be more,
Lives down Bev rd just before cross keys pub. Terrible facial burns

The father of one of my friends at school died on that, I have quite a story about him and his son (my mate ) won’t share it at the moment, it’s not bad but possibly not appropriate at the moment.
