A welcome voice of reason. We have allowed ourselves to become led by a political system based on winning and losing. It is not a basis for governing. The win at all costs mentality, that Labour and Conservatives have become a slave too, has led us to having clear evidence they lie to gain power, and when in power cant see the way out of their lies. There must be something in the water at Westminster.

Our kids deserve better than those sitting on either side of the house. My youngest son is studying politics and he is so politically engaged and enthused about the art of the possible. As of today though he is not eligible to vote. I hope his generation have more about them then my generation when it comes to political reform.

34 million people are in work, so roughly half of the UK population. So that means more than half of the people in this country would have no access to healthcare. I paid £1,500 n. i. last year despite having paid all of my contributions to qualify for state pension but I have no qualms about that as all of us need healthcare not just those that are in work and nobody chooses to be ill. Look to America to see what private healthcare does to it's citizens. I suffered from Bell's Palsy last year which came on out of nowhere and took 3 months to go away. I couldn't work because of it. That's how easy illness and unemployment can happen through no fault of your own.

This is a wind up. Sadly see anyone go but you can’t blame that for anyone’s death. All he had to do was change. Not easy the older you get but things change.

This is exactly the kind of response that fuels my despair. "If you don't follow our beliefs exactly to the letter then you have no values".
What I want to see is more values and less empty posturing, fewer people trying to prove how moral or kind they are by following and protesting about the latest faddy pseudo-political cause. I want to see people who understand nuance, who listen to what other people have to say, and who try to reach a consensus to help improve society and the country overall. Not people wuth this ridiculous enmity towards people who, for example, think it's perfectly fine to be proud of being British.

As I said, the extremes don't care about anyone. They're just driven by their self indulgent, blinkered ideologies.

You’ve interpreted your own version with respect. The usual patronising response. I’d argue we have a centre ground in charge now but think we’ve taxed the wealthy enough and that ending child poverty isn’t a priority. We need better more human values.

As I’ve said many a time. When the centrist parties stop acting in the best interests of their citizens then the citizens will find a party that they think will.
There appears to be a shift towards those parties now and if Kier Starmer and his party don’t take notice then they are likely going to become a one term wonder.

But more idiots seem to vote Reform.

Working class people voting to dismantle the NHS and needed public services is a bit idiotic.

The clear evidence from the states is that throwing it away is worse though. Insurance based system is no replacement. All it encourages is profit taking, sharp practice - and ultimately working people getting a far worse standard of care than that which they have now. Or worse still refusing care due to deductibles.

And that’s why Labour are looking at practices as well as more money.

I travel to the US and if you are proposing getting rid of the nhs for an American style system which Farage’s mates and backers want we are truly in frightening times.

    Turkeys voting for Christmas.

Hitler banned Jews from working, then labelled them as "parasites" because they weren't working. Germans lapped it up as they had a scapegoat to blame.

When Labour have taxed wealthy farmers people have kicked off because Clarkson told them to. You have to laugh.

Some real effort going into breakfast clubs by this government wijich is a good start to tackling child poverty. Of course it hasn’t been given a great deal of coverage by GB News so some on here may not have seen it.

Where would your vote go out of curiosity? I genuinely don’t know who I’ll vote for, it certainly won’t be labour after this **** show that we all knew was coming but what I’m struggling to understand is folk who clearly think they’re well educated trying to put down others for who they vote for whilst aimlessly voting for the same two parties that have consistently failed and most of you up here vote for whoever your dad/grandad told you to - which is normally labour. I’d say those are the people who lack education and critical thinking skills.

Public satisfaction in the NHS is sat at 26% whilst the American Healthcare was 79%. Personally, I want to vote for what benefits me. And as a 32 year old bloke who has not only been the victim of but seen some shocking cases of NHS **** ups i just can’t really accept that it’s something that we see as a positive anymore. It gets defended so valiantly because there’s a lot of employees meaning a lot of family members who’ll defend said employees. If any other line of business was ran as inefficiently as the NHS it would have the plug pulled.

If I was in America I’d have healthcare insurance therefore I’d more than likely be fine and I also wouldn’t have early on set arthritis and potentially never be able to run again because of errors totally out of my control - but it’s alright, cos it’s “free”. So we should just accept ****e.

Instead of "offering" the rest of us the wonderful USA style health service, you could just emigrate to America and leave the rest of us to cope with the NHS instead :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I think Starmer knows what needs to be done. I think he's even tried to do it. But he's been hamstrung by those elements of the party that put ideology above improving things. It requires someone stronger than him to do it. I don't think the right person exists in the Labour Party. I don't think the person strong enough to make the changes required exists in the Conservative Party. And I don't think any of the other parties are interested in improving our society.

Haway man. You just have a conversion poster on the wall. It’s not hard unless you’re as stubborn as hell. Maybe the support could have been better, the enforcement less harsh but the cost of leaving the EU has been huge. All the data says it. As I’ve said some people struggle with change more than others. AI strikes me as major threat on all levels and you’re having a scrap about grams and ounces.
